The Giants have released RB Jon Hilliman and signed RB Buck Allen. Hilliman operated as the team's lead back in Thursday night's game against the Patriots but mustered just 38 yards on 11 carries. Allen has averaged just 3.7 yards per carry across 4 NFL seasons but does own 169 career catches. Of course, this move will only matter if both Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Wayne Gallman (concussion) aren't ready for Week 7.
Giants RBs Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Wayne Gallman (concussion) are out for Thursday night's game against the Patriots. Barkley seemingly has a shot to return for Week 7. It'll be Jon Hilliman and Elijhaa Penny in New York's backfield tomorrow. Hilliman figures to tally 12-15 touches but isn't an attractive fantasy play vs. New England's 2nd-ranked RB defense.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is "unlikely" to play against the Patriots on Thursday night. He's made a bunch of progress in his rehab, but he's still only 2-and-a-half weeks removed from what's usually a 4+ week injury. We're betting on Barkley returning for Week 7 against the Cardinals. With RB Wayne Gallman (concussion) also expected to miss the Patriots game, the G-Men are down to undrafted rookie RB Jon Hilliman. He has a shot to see ~15 touches on Thursday night but still isn't a recommended fantasy play in this matchup.
