Leonte Carroo Fantasy Football News 2020

Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) is inactive for today’s game against the Bills. DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and Leonte Carroo will serve as Miami’s top 3 WRs.

The Dolphins have cut WR Leonte Carroo. A 3rd-round pick in 2016, Carroo caught just 10 total passes over 2 seasons with Miami. We'll see if he gets a meaningful shot anywhere else.

Dolphins WR Leonte Carroo will undergo "minor knee surgery to clean up some issues," according to insider Armando Salguero. No word on the exact nature or timing of Carroo's injury. He obviously won't be able to participate in next week's minicamp but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, per Salguero. It's still bad news for a guy fighting for a roster spot. Carroo is off the redraft radar.

Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game against the Seahawks. Rookie WR Leonte Carroo will replace Parker on the outside but shouldn’t be anywhere near your fantasy lineup.

The Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero says WR Kenny Stills has “been impressive since minicamp” and “opened some eyes” early in training camp. Stills flopped in 2015, his first year with the Fins. Still, he averaged 16.3 yards per catch on 27 receptions and will play this season at just 24 years old. Stills also started his career with 2 promising campaigns in New Orleans. Rookie Leonte Carroo limits the veteran to deep league value, but he’s an option late in best ball drafts.

The Dolphins traded up in the 3rd round to add WR Leonte Carroo. His college production was capped by a Rutgers passing game that didn’t crack the top 50 in pass yards or TDs in any of the last 3 seasons. But he still managed to rack up 94 receptions, 1,895 yards and 20 TDs over the past 2 years. Carroo averaged 20.2 yards per catch while accounting for 34.8% of his team’s receiving yards and 62.5% of its receiving TDs. The 6’0, 211-pounder ran a 4.5-second 40-yard dash at the Combine and earned a SPARQ score in the 49th percentile among WRs. He won’t blow you away with his athleticism but is a heady route runner with some of the best hands in the draft class. Carroo dropped just 2 of 96 catchable targets over the past 2 seasons, according to Pro Football Focus. Miami isn’t a great landing spot with Jarvis Landry and DeVante Parker virtually locked in as the top 2 WRs. Carroo will battle with Kenny Stills for the #3 spot.
