Logan Paulsen Fantasy Football News 2019

The Texans made a series of moves at TE on Monday. They placed Jordan Thomas and rookie Kahale Warring on IR. Thomas suffered a rib injury in the 2nd half of Thursday's preseason finale. Warring dealt with a concussion and hamstring injury and missed most of the summer. Houston signed veteran Logan Paulsen, whom Atlanta cut over the weekend. He joins Jordan Akins and Darren Fells. You would be best off avoiding all Houston TEs in fantasy for now. Thomas and Warring will be eligible for the designation to return this season.

The Redskins have signed TE Vernon Davis.  Washington was the only known team to show interest in the 32-year-old.  Davis didn't make much of an impact in Denver last season and has averaged just 10.0 yards per catch over the last 2 years.  He's no threat to TE Jordan Reed and will probably need to battle with Niles Paul and Logan Paulsen for the #2 spot on the depth chart.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed (concussion) is inactive for today’s game against the Chiefs.  He’s yet to receive full medical clearance after experiencing a setback a week ago.  TEs Logan Paulsen and Fred Davis will pick up the slack, but neither is a recommended fantasy play.

Washington TE Jordan Reed suffered a concussion against the Eagles and has been ruled out for the rest of the game.  He'll have to pass through the league protocol before returning for Week 12.  Logan Paulsen figures to draw more looks in Reed's absence.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed (thigh) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday.  He's hoping to get back on the field for tomorrow but admits he's still in "quite a bit of pain."  Reed is looking extremely iffy for this weekend's game against the Raiders.  With TE Fred Davis (ankle) also banged-up, Washington might be left with only TE Logan Paulsen.  That'd only mean more targets for WR Pierre Garcon.

The Redskins have re-signed TE Logan Paulsen to a 3-year deal.  Paulsen stepped up as Washington's lead TE after Fred Davis went down last year, compiling 24 catches, 286 yards and 1 TD.  He's a solid run-blocker but isn't much of a threat in the passing game.  Washington is expected to either bring back Davis or add a pass-catching TE this offseason.  Paulsen is unlikely to be a 2013 fantasy factor.

The Redskins are giving TE Logan Paulsen the first crack at replacing TE Fred Davis.  "He's earned it," HC Mike Shanahan said.  Paulsen hauled in 4 balls for 76 yards last week -- both easily career highs.  He entered the contest with just 170 yards over his first 33 career games.  Even with this sweet facial hair, Paulsen is a long shot to be a fantasy factor this season.  Chris Cooley could quickly pass him on the depth chart if his knee is healthy.
