Malcolm Jenkins Fantasy Football News 2019

The Eagles have reached a deal with former Rams S Rodney McLeod, according to USA Today's Tom Pelissero. The contract will reportedly be for $37 million over 5 years, with $17 million guaranteed. The 25-year-old started every game over the past 3 seasons in St. Louis -- after working as a reserve in his rookie year. In Philly, he'll replace yet another Chip Kelly import in S Walter Thurmond. McLeod and S Malcolm Jenkins give the Eagles a potentially strong duo at the back of a defense that still needs to address CB this offseason.

As expected, Eagles S Malcolm Jenkins is active today against the Dolphins despite suffering a concussion last week against the Cowboys. He admitted to playing through the injury in that game but had entered this weekend "probable." Use him as you normally would in your IDP lineup.

Eagles S Malcolm Jenkins missed practice Wednesday and is in the league concussion protocol. The team is apparently optimistic for his chances to play against Miami on Sunday, though. "It's not a big deal," HC Chip Kelly said Wednesday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I think he should be back [Thursday], so we're not concerned about that." Jenkins' availability would be good for IDP owners and the Eagles' team D.

The Eagles have signed former Saints S Malcolm Jenkins to a reported 3-year, $16.25 million deal.  That clearly positions the 26-year-old as an immediate starter -- and likely the team's best safety since it let Brian Dawkins walk in free agency 5 years ago.  Jenkins lost 5 games to injury over his past 2 seasons and has yet to play a full 16 in his 5-year career.  He posted a top 5 scoring average among fantasy DBs in 2012, though, and has displayed cross-category ability.  He could work his way into a sleeper spot in our 2014 IDP rankings.  Philadelphia also released S Patrick Chung on Tuesday, just a year after signing him in free agency.

Saints S Kenny Vaccaro said Monday that he'll miss at least 1 game because of the concussion he suffered in Sunday night's win over the Cowboys.  His absence would allow Malcolm Jenkins and Roman Harper to start if both are healthy enough to do so.  Both veterans missed Week 10.  Rafael Bush started alongside Vaccaro, and Isa Abdul-Quddus worked in.  We don't expect to recommend any Saints safety in an already unfavorable matchup with the Niners.

Saints S Malcolm Jenkins (knee) is questionable for Sunday night after missing practice all week.  He indicated Thursday that he'll test out the knee before the game Sunday, but we're not willing to wait for that.  Sit Jenkins and find another DB for your IDP squad.
Saints S Malcolm Jenkins (knee) is inactive for Week 9.  S Kenny Vaccaro carries IDP upside in the matchup with the Jets.

Saints S Malcolm Jenkins (knee) is questionable for Sunday's meeting the Jets.  He looks like a risky IDP option after sitting out practice all week. Fellow S Kenny Vaccaro (concussion, back) practiced Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday.  He's questionable but seems a safer bet to play than Jenkins.

Saints S Roman Harper is out for Week 3 with a knee injury.  That boosts the IDP profiles of fellow Saints safeties Malcolm Jenkins and Kenny Vaccaro -- especially against a Cardinals offense likely to lean pass.
Saints S Roman Harper missed practice Wednesday and Thursday because of the knee injury that limited him last week.  He played just 42 of the team's 61 defensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Bucs.  Whether this knee thing limits him or not, don't be surprised if we're witnessing the Harper phase-out plan.  First-round rookie S Kenny Vaccaro and incumbent S Malcolm Jenkins have both been full-time players the 1st 2 weeks, and the defense has looked much better than last year.  You can safely dump Harper from your IDP fantasy football team.

Saints FS Malcolm Jenkins suffered an unspecified right leg injury in Sunday's loss at the Giants. He tried to return to the game but aggravated the injury. Jenkins played just 16 total snaps and was replaced by Isa Abdul-Quddus (who does great work on "Dora the Explorer," by the way). Jenkins is a question mark for the Week 15 matchup with the Bucs.

The Saints have deactivated FS Malcolm Jenkins and MLB Jonathan Vilma for today's matchup with Carolina.
