Mario Addison Fantasy Football News 2019

Panthers DE Mario Addison saw his playing time limited by a back injury in Sunday's win over the Eagles. He managed to play just 27% of the snaps, compared with a 68% share over the 1st 5 games. Addison eventually left for good in the 4th quarter. We'll keep an eye on his status heading into a Week 8 meeting with the Ravens.

Panthers DE Mario Addison (hip) is active for today's game against the Buccaneers. He put in just a limited practice Friday after sitting out the previous 2 days, but his playing time didn't suffer last week, when the injury occurred. Addison will be worth using in an upside matchup in most cases.

Panthers DE Mario Addison is questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers with a hip injury. Addison missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before putting in a limited workout Friday. We'll check on his status Sunday morning. Carolina, of course, will definitely go without OLB Thomas Davis, who was suspended 1 game for an illegal hit that left Packers WR Davante Adams concussed.

The Panthers will have DE Mario Addison (foot), S Kurt Coleman (concussion) and CB Daryl Worley (concussion) in the lineup against the Chargers. All 3 are active after entering the day questionable. Addison remains a risky start and is a boom/bust IDP candidate anyway. Coleman and Worley are top fantasy options among DBs for the week.

The Panthers have ruled DE Charles Johnson out for Sunday's game against the Chargers with a hamstring injury. MLB Luke Kuechly, CB Daryl Worley and S Kurt Coleman are all officially questionable, though each is expected to play barring a setback in their recoveries from concussions. DE Mario Addison (foot) is also questionable. He put in a full practice Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. We'll check on his status Sunday and keep tabs on the concussion crew through the weekend.

The Panthers have ruled MLB Luke Kuechly (concussion), S Kurt Coleman (concussion) and DE Mario Addison (foot) out for Sunday night's game at Seattle. That will mean another start for A.J. Klein in Kuechly's place. It should also mean more playing time for DE Kony Ealy, who played his most snaps last Sunday since Week 6. Michael Griffin has worked in as the 3rd safety and figures to take Coleman's spot. Only Klein's worth any IDP attention in most leagues, though Seattle presents some sack upside for Ealy. He has registered a QB hit in 3 straight games, including a pair of sacks.

The Panthers have ruled MLB Luke Kuechly (concussion) and DE Mario Addison (foot) out for Sunday's game at Oakland. Kuechly will at least travel with the team, which seems like a good sign for his recovery beyond this week. A.J. Klein will start in Kuechly's place Sunday. Carolina will also miss C Ryan Kalil (shoulder), which will make life tougher for QB Cam Newton and RB Jonathan Stewart.

The Panthers have officially ruled DE Charles Johnson (MCL sprain) out for Week 13.  We've expected the move, given Johnson's continued absence from practice.  DE Mario Addison figures to draw primary snaps in place of Johnson again.
Panthers HC Ron Rivera said that left DE Charles Johnson will test his sprained knee in practice Wednesday.  “Wednesday will be a big day for us, then we’ll see Thursday where he is,” Rivera told the Charlotte Observer.  “If he’s really sore then it won’t be as rosy an outlook as I’d hope. And then we’ll see. Again, we’re going to be smart."  We'll see how Johnson looks and feels in practice this week, but the smart move would seem to be keeping Johnson out at least 1 more week.  DE Mario Addison registered a sack, 3 hits and 4 hurries while playing just 35 of 67 snaps in Johnson's stead Sunday.
