Raiders LB Nick Kwiatkoski left Sunday's game against the Panthers with a pectoral injury and has been ruled out for the rest of the day. If the injury turns out to be a tear, Kwiatkoski's season would likely be over. We'll watch for updates on his status.
The Raiders on Friday released S Damarious Randall. Vegas signed the former Brown this offseason to a 1-year deal, but he apparently failed to work his way into the 2020 plan. Instead, Erik Harris and Johnathan Abram look poised to start at safety. Abram arrived in the 1st round of last year's NFL Draft and was a lock to start after returning from his rookie-season shoulder injury. Harris spent nearly all of last season starting for the Raiders after Abram's injury, and he cracked the top 20 DBs in most IDP formats.
The Raiders have reached a 3-year, $36 million deal with LB Cory Littleton. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that it will include $22 million guaranteed. That follow's Las Vegas' Monday deal with LB Nick Kwiatkoski to likely fill the team's 2 full-time LB roles for the coming season. Littleton clearly stands as the better player, but we'll see exactly what their roles look like. Littleton became a versatile performer with the Rams, delivering in the pass rush and coverage. He'll remain a stellar bet for fantasy production in the middle of a defense that delivered Tahir Whitehead 108 tackles in 2019. There's room, though, for Kwiatkoski to also reach fantasy-starter territory -- at least in low LB3 range.
The Raiders have agreed to a 3-year, $21 million deal with LB Nick Kwiatkoski. The former Bear started 8 games for Chicago last season, filling in for each of the team's ILB starters at different points. He steps into a starting job in an Oakland LB corps with lots of tackles available. Tahir Whitehead is gone after leading the team with 108 tackles (79 solo) last season.
Raiders S Erik Harris (hamstring) is active for today's game against the Jaguars. Use him as you normally would in your IDP lineups.
Raiders S Erik Harris is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He popped up on Thursday's injury report with a hamstring injury that continued to limit him Friday. We'll see about Harris when the inactives come out Sunday afternoon.
The Raiders on Saturday placed S Karl Joseph on IR with the right foot injury he suffered at the end of Thursday night's win over the Chargers. The team signed S D.J. Swearinger to fill his roster spot. We'll see about Swearinger's playing time in a fluid Oakland secondary. The team also signed DE Dion Jordan over the weekend. A one-time top-5 pick in the NFL Draft, Jordan has busted hard through stints with the Dolphins and Seahawks. We'll see if he can get anything together in Oakland, but Jordan's not likely to become an IDP factor.
Raiders S Erik Harris is active for today's game against the Lions. He entered the day questionable because of illness but looks ready for normal IDP use.
Raiders S Erik Harris is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions because of an illness. Harris missed practice Thursday but returned to a limited Friday workout. We haven't seen any indication he'll sit out but will check his status Sunday afternoon.
The NFL has suspended Raiders LB Vontaze Burfict for the rest of the season for his headshot on Colts TE Jack Doyle Sunday. Burfict has a history of league suspensions for similar offenses, which explains the unprecedented length of this ban. Burfict has 3 days to appeal it, so we'll see whether it changes. Either way, Tahir Whitehead has been the more reliable Oakland LB for playing time and tackles and should be owned in most IDP leagues of at least moderate depth.
Raiders LB Vontaze Burfict (shoulder) and DB Lamarcus Joyner (groin) are active for today's game against the Vikings. Each entered the day questionable but is fine to use as you might have planned in your IDP lineup.
The Raiders spent their 3rd pick of the NFL Draft's 1st round on S Johnathan Abram. The DB tallied 99 tackles (53 solo), 9 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and 2 INTs in his final season at Mississippi State. Abram brings a versatile skill set to an Oakland secondary in need of help. Abram's ability plus the opportunity gives him a nice fantasy outlook -- both immediately and long term.
The Raiders delivered the 1st surprise of the 2019 NFL Draft by taking Clemson DE Clelin Ferrell with the 4th overall pick. Ferrell enjoyed a highly productive college career, racking up 12.5, 18.0 and 20.0 tackles for loss over the past 3 years. That included 6.0, 9.5 and 11.5 sacks. Ferrell skipped the 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine and then didn't work out at Clemson's pro day because of a toe injury. His 7.26-second 3-cone drill at the combine was just 42nd percentile for his position. A weak Oakland defense presents opportunity for Ferrell to start right away.
The Raiders have reached a 4-year deal with S Lamarcus Joyner, per multiple reports. He should take over the free safety spot for Oakland, which spent 2018 rotating players there. The Rams already added Eric Weddle for Joyner's old post.
The Raiders have waived DE Bruce Irvin, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic. The nearly $4 million left on Irvin's contract might keep him from getting claimed, though interested teams with cap space could foot that bill now that they wouldn't have to surrender any draft capital in trade. Either way, expect the 31-year-old pass-rusher to get another shot somewhere this season. Whether he'll have a shot at IDP relevance will depend on the landing spot.
Raiders CB Daryl Worley is active for tonight's game against the 49ers. He entered the day questionable with a shoulder issue that limited his practice time this week but is ready to go for Week 9 IDP lineups. The Niners starting Nick Mullens can only add turnover upside to Worley.
Raiders CB Daryl Worley is questionable for Thursday night's game against the 49ers with a shoulder injury. That's a new ailment after an ankle tweak rendered him questionable for Week 8. Worley played through that for normal usage. Oakland listed him as a limited participant all this week. We'll check his status when the inactives arrive tonight.
Raiders CB Daryl Worley (ankle) is active for today's game against the Colts. He suffered the injury in Friday's practice, but it reported to be minor. Worley seems good to go for Week 8 IDP lineups -- in an upside spot.
Raiders CB Daryl Worley suffered an ankle injury in Friday’s practice and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Colts. According to NBC Sports’ Scott Bair, though, HC Jon Gruden doesn’t believe the injury to be serious. We’ll check on Worley’s status Sunday afternoon
The Raiders have released LB Derrick Johnson. The veteran's playing time had dwindled to just about a quarter of the defensive snaps over the past 3 games, so his departure shouldn't mean much for the Oakland defense. It could, however, mean a further playing-time boost for Marquel Lee, the 2nd-year LB who had supplanted Johnson as the middle starter. Though their snap counts didn't correlate directly over the past 4 games, they came pretty close. Lee will be interesting to watch for IDP purposes. He's only an add in deep/dynasty formats right now.
