Patriots S Patrick Chung and DE Trey Flowers (concussions) are both active for today's game against the Dolphins. Both make sense as IDP options depending on league size and your other available options.
Patriots S Patrick Chung and DE Trey Flowers are questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Each guy missed Week 3 with a concussion. They put in limited practices this week, and Flowers told reporters Wednesday he expected to be ready to play Sunday. We'll see about the status of each starter on Sunday.
The Patriots on Saturday ruled DE Trey Flowers and S Patrick Chung out for Sunday night's game at Detroit. Each is dealing with a concussion. We'll see about their progress heading into Week 4.
Patriots S Patrick Chung left Sunday's loss to the Jaguars with a concussion. He and DE Trey Flowers must pass through the league protocol before returning to play. We'll watch the status of each guy heading toward Sunday night's visit to Detroit.
Patriots S Patrick Chung (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. He missed practice Wednesday but returned for Thursday and Friday workouts. We'll update his status Sunday morning.
Patriots DE Rob Ninkovich (shin), S Patrick Chung (foot) and S Devin McCourty (ankle) are active for today's finale against the Dolphins. Ninkovich carries big IDP upside, while the safeties don't look particularly attractive for your lineup. Getting them both back after missing McCourty and Chung last week can only help the pass defense and the team D outlook for fantasy, though.
The New England defense could be missing some key pieces at Miami on Sunday. The Patriots have ruled out DE Chandler Jones (toe) and LB Dont'a Hightower (knee) and deemed DE Rob Ninkovich (shin) questionable. Ninkovich only practiced Thursday this week. The moves make DE Jabaal Sheard the best IDP bet on the New England D-line and chip away at the defense's upside. The matchup with a reeling Dolphins offense keeps the Patriots among the most attractive fantasy targets for the week, though. Safeties Patrick Chung (foot) and Devin McCourty (ankle) are also questionable after missing last week's loss to the Jets.
Patriots S Patrick Chung (foot) and S Devin McCourty (ankle) are inactive for today's game against the Jets. LB Dont'a Hightower (knee) is active but a risky play who could well see his time limited. He has twice tweaked the same knee now.
The Patriots might miss S Patrick Chung (foot) and LB Dont'a Hightower (knee) Sunday against the Jets. Both enter the weekend questionable. Chung's listed with the foot issue that he has played through for several weeks rather than the hip injury he suffered in the 4th quarter last week. So we'd expect him to play. In the same game, Hightower aggravated an existing knee injury that had already cost him games. We'd bet on at least a smaller role for him if he's active against the Jets. Don't plan to use Hightower in your IDP lineup.
Patriots S Patrick Chung suffered a hip injury late in Sunday's win over the Titans when he appeared to take a helmet shot to the area. Chung could be seen walking slowly toward the locker room. We'll see about his status heading into a Week 16 meeting with the Jets. Given that it's New England, don't expect much clarity on the situation at least until close to game time.
Patriots S Devin McCourty (ankle) is inactive for today's game against the Titans. LB Dont'a Hightower (knee) will return to action, though, despite entering the day questionable. His knee issue makes him an iffy bet for playing time, however, especially if New England builds a big lead. S Patrick Chung (foot) is active as well and fine to use as you normally would. He hasn't seen his playing time limited recently.
As usual, a whole bunch of Patriots are questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans. On defense, that includes S Devin McCourty (ankle), S Patrick Chung (foot) and LB Dont'a Hightower (knee). McCourty put in just a limited practice Friday after missing the previous 2 days and looks the shakiest. Chung has already played through a "questionable" tag the past 2 weeks and should be find for IDP lineups. Hightower missed the past 2 games and will be a threat to play fewer snaps than usual even if he returns. He's tough to like as an IDP option, even in an upside matchup.
Patriots S Patrick Chung (foot) is active for tonight's game against the Texans. He doesn't make for a strong IDP option, but he's usable if he was in your plans.
Patriots S Patrick Chung (foot) is questionable for Sunday night's game in Houston. He put in limited practices Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Chung hasn't posted the kind of fantasy production to be worth waiting for, especially given the late kickoff.
Patriots OLB Jamie Collins is active for today's game against the Eagles after missing the past 4 games because of an illness. We can't know whether he'll play his usual snap allotment, but Collins is worth the risk for most IDP owners. S Patrick Chung (foot) is also active after entering the day questionable. LB Dont'a Hightower is inactive, though, a week after suffering a knee injury in the loss at Denver. He practiced this week, so we'd bet on him returning for Week 14. But this is New England, so we'll see. Overall, the Patriots' team D makes for a high-upside fantasy play against Philly this week.
The Eagles have signed former Saints S Malcolm Jenkins to a reported 3-year, $16.25 million deal. That clearly positions the 26-year-old as an immediate starter -- and likely the team's best safety since it let Brian Dawkins walk in free agency 5 years ago. Jenkins lost 5 games to injury over his past 2 seasons and has yet to play a full 16 in his 5-year career. He posted a top 5 scoring average among fantasy DBs in 2012, though, and has displayed cross-category ability. He could work his way into a sleeper spot in our 2014 IDP rankings. Philadelphia also released S Patrick Chung on Tuesday, just a year after signing him in free agency.
The busy Eagles have announced they signed former Patriots S Patrick Chung. Once a favorite IDP breakout candidate, Chung let fantasy owners down by losing 14 games to various injuries over the past 3 seasons. Even when he was healthy last year, Chung lost his full-time role in a crowded backfield. Chung left Oregon for the NFL just as Chip Kelly was taking over the HC post. But Kelly spent the previous 2 years as OC for the Ducks. So he's obviously familiar with Chung. The most obvious move would be to slot Chung into the Eagles' starting SS job. We'll see how the rest of the action sorts out, though. Philly would probably like to replace both starters at the back end.
