Salvon Ahmed Fantasy Football News 2021

The Dolphins are signing RB Malcolm Brown, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Brown set career highs last year in carries (101), rushing yards (419) and all receiving categories (33 targets, 23 catches, 162 yards). His departure leaves Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson more room in the Rams backfield for now. Miami has been commonly linked to the top incoming rookie RBs in mock drafts. We'll be curious to see how else they address a backfield that was dominated by Myles Gaskin in 2020.

Dolphins RB Myles Gaskin has been activated from the COVID list and practiced on Wednesday. That puts him on track to return for Saturday night's game against the Raiders. A healthy Gaskin has been Miami's lead back, averaging 17.5 carries and 4.3 targets over his last 6 games. We're expecting him to return to a similar role, despite RB Salvon Ahmed's solid Week 15 outing.

Dolphins RB Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) is active for today’s game against the Patriots. He joins DeAndre Washington, Matt Breida and Patrick Laird in the backfield. Ahmed operated as Miami's lead back in Weeks 10 and 11 and might return to that role today. But it’s unclear exactly how touches will be distributed here.

Dolphins RB Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Patriots. He got in 3 limited practices this week and seems on track to return. Ahmed operated as Miami's lead back in Weeks 10 and 11, totaling 33 carries and 7 targets. He might just be the best bet for touches in the backfield this weekend -- ahead of DeAndre Washington, Matt Breida and Patrick Laird -- but you're best off just avoiding this backfield in what figures to be a low-scoring affair vs. New England.

Dolphins RBs Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) and Matt Breida (COVID) are out for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. That leaves DeAndre Washington and Patrick Laird to back up Myles Gaskin, who was back in a feature role last week.

Dolphins RBs Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) and DeAndre Washington (hamstring) are inactive for today’s game against the Bengals. RB Matt Breida (COVID) is also out, leaving Miami’s backfield to Myles Gaskin and Patrick Laird. Assuming Gaskin’s knee is somewhere close to 100%, he should step back into a workhorse role.

Dolphins RBs Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) and DeAndre Washington (hamstring) are listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bengals. RB Matt Breida, meanwhile, missed Friday's practice with an illness that HC Brian Flores declined to say was COVID related or not. Flores also said that the team is still deciding whether to bring back RB Myles Gaskin (knee) for this weekend's game. If Gaskin is activated, he'd likely step back in as Miami's clear lead back and be in the RB2 mix. If not, Miami could be left with only RB Patrick Laird. We have to imagine they'd go pass-heavy in that case.

Dolphins RB DeAndre Washington has missed the first 2 practices of the week with a hamstring injury. RB Salvon Ahmed, meanwhile, has been limited with his shoulder issue. RB Myles Gaskin (knee) has also been practicing but isn't listed on the official report because he still hasn't been activated from IR. Hopefully by Friday afternoon we'll have a better idea of what Miami's backfield will look like vs. Cincinnati this weekend.

Dolphins RB Myles Gaskin (knee) won't be activated from IR and will miss Sunday's game against the Jets, ESPN's Cameron Wolfe reports. With RB Salvon Ahmed also out, Miami is down to RBs Matt Breida, DeAndre Washington and Patrick Laird. We're guessing that Breida leads the way in touches tomorrow -- but it's just a guess. You should try to avoid the situation in fantasy lineups.

Dolphins RB Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) is out for Sunday's game against the Jets. RB Myles Gaskin (knee) returned to practice this week, but HC Brian Flores wouldn't say Friday whether Gaskin will be able to play this weekend. We'll look for updates on his status. Matt Breida, Patrick Laird and DeAndre Washington are Miami's healthy RBs right now.
