Sebastian Janikowski Fantasy Football News 2018

The Seahawks on Friday reached a 1-year deal with K Sebastian Janikowski. The former Raiders kicker missed last season but finished 12th among fantasy kickers in 2016. Seattle got a disappointing 72.4% conversion rate on FGs last year from K Blair Walsh. Steven Hauschka finished top 12 among fantasy kickers each of the previous 5 seasons as a Seahawk.

The Raiders have placed K Sebastian Janikowski (back) on IR. They could bring him back as their "designated-to-return" player, but there's no reason to roster him in fantasy right now. K Giorgio Tavecchio was promoted from the practice squad and will kick for Oakland against the Titans tomorrow.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski (back) was limited in practice all week and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans. We'll see if Oakland adds a K to the roster on Saturday, but there's no reason to mess with this situation in Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski is dealing with a back injury. He missed the final 2 preseason games and looked "awful" in practice on Monday, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Oakland is reportedly considering cutting Janikowski and worked out 3 Ks on Monday (Mike Nugent, Josh Lambo and Marshall Koehn). We'll continue to keep an eye on the situation, but Janikowski should be avoided in drafts and Week 1 fantasy lineups.

The Raiders have signed K Sebastian Janikowski to a 4-year extension.  This obviously isn't huge news for fantasy owners, because Janikowski already held the undisputed starting role.  (And, of course, there's the fact that he's a kicker.)  But it shows the franchise's continuing commitment to 1 of the biggest legs in NFL history.  Here's hoping the Raiders can develop an offense to match before he retires.

The Raiders expect K Sebastian Janikowski (groin) to be ready for Week 1.  "He's a little tight, but it doesn't seem to be any real pull (or) defect in the muscle or anything like that, so I don't anticipate it being a big deal,'' HC Dennis Allen said.  Any type of leg injury for a kicker is worth monitoring, but it sounds like Janikowski is fine.  Considering he's usually the first kicker off the board in fantasy drafts, though, he won't be on any of our teams.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski suffered a groin injury in Saturday night's preseason game.  He pulled up lame while trying to chase down a returner and limped gingerly off the field.  We'll update SeaBass' status when we learn more.  Until then, look elsewhere for your fantasy kicker.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) is active for tonight's game against the Chargers.  He's an elite fantasy option when healthy, but you're better off going with a safer alternative tonight.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) was unable to practice on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for tonight's game against the Chargers.  The team hasn't signed another K, so it looks like SeaBass will give it a go.  But he's clearly not at 100% though.  You're better off using a safer option in your fantasy lineup this week.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) is active for today's game against the Broncos.  The bum hammy makes him risky, but go ahead and get him in your lineup if you waited on him.

Jason La Canfora reports via Twitter that Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski is ready to kick on Sunday. Seabass couldn't practice during the week because of his injured hamstring but apparently checked out on Saturday. That sends Dave Rayner back to the used kicker lot. We can't help but think Janikowski's still a bit risky if he couldn't practice before Saturday. If the Raiders are fine with him, though, it's probably not worth using an extra fantasy-roster spot on a replacement.

The Raiders reportedly hope to have K Sebastian Janikowski available for Sunday, but he has been unable to practice all week. Seabass plans to try kicking on Saturday to determine if he can go. If he can't, Dave Rayner will handle kicking duties again. Needless to say, no kicker is worth this kind of gameday risk. Find a healthy option.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) was held out of Wednesday's practice.  The team is expecting him to be ready for this weekend's game against the Broncos, so they may just be exercising caution here.  We'll see if SeaBass gets back on the field Thursday.

Raiders HC Hue Jackson expects to get K Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) back after the team's Week 8 bye.  SeaBass will return to top-10 fantasy status.

As expected, Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) is inactive for today's game against the Chiefs.  Dave Rayner will handle kicking duties for Oakland.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowksi (hamstring) was unable to practice on Friday. He's listed as questionable but isn't expected to play against the Chiefs this weekend. Oakland will sign a replacement today.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders are considering shuttiing down K Sebastian Janikowski for "a few weeks" after he injured his hamstring in practice Thursday.  They're bringing in Ks today for workouts.  Janikowski won't kick against the Chiefs this weekend and can be dropped in fantasy leagues.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski was added to the team's injury report on Thursday with a left hamstring.  That's his kicking leg, so it's definitely a concern.  SeaBass' status for Sunday's game against the Chiefs is unclear at this point.  Check back tomorrow for an update.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski has been charged with misdemeanor battery and false imprisonment.  Details are unclear, but the team doesn't sound concerned.  "This incident occurred over a year ago," the Raiders said in an official statement. "Sebastian was not arrested, we were aware of this matter and this is not news."  We'll update this story if more becomes known, but Janikowski is fully expected to kick against the Bills on Sunday.

The Sacramento Bee reports: "The Raiders turning Sebastian Janikowski into a circus sideshow might have resulted in an injury. Janikowski said he hurt his quadriceps on his 58-yard field goal attempt with 13 seconds left. He said he'd been standing around for 10-12 minutes and wasn't ready to go in." Bench him, or drop him for Phil Dawson or Jay Feely.
