The Browns have reached a deal with the Giants to acquire WR Odell Beckham Jr. The deal will send 1st- and 3rd-round picks plus S Jabrill Peppers to the Giants. Beckham has 5 more years on a contract that he signed just last August, though there's no guaranteed money beyond 2020. The move obviously gives Cleveland a new #1 WR, one of the league's most talented. Beckham and WR Jarvis Landry will challenge each others' target counts in an offense that finished 2018 with lower passing volume. The Giants, meanwhile, sport no WR ahead of Sterling Shepard at the moment. We'll see what they do in free agency and the draft to address a position that's suddenly desperately shallow. Peppers joins a secondary that will also add Antoine Bethea in free agency. If Peppers and Bethea emerge as the 2 starters, the Giants might sport a lack in deep-coverage ability. The big fantasy winner here, by the way, is Cleveland 2nd-year QB Baker Mayfield.
Giants WR Odell Beckham (quad) is out for Week 17. WR Sterling Shepard and TE Evan Engram will again serve as QB Eli Manning’s top 2 targets against a Cowboys team that figures to rest some defensive starters.
Giants WR Odell Beckham (quad) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. He's unlikely to play in this weekend's finale against the Cowboys, again leaving WR Sterling Shepard and TE Evan Engram as QB Eli Manning's top 2 targets.
The Giants have ruled WR Odell Beckham out for Sunday's game at Indianapolis. That will once again leave Sterling Shepard as the de facto lead wideout. Shepard absorbed 9 targets in that role last week but caught just 2 balls for the 2nd straight game. Beckham's absence helps the volume outlook but doesn't turn Shepard into a strong option. TE Evan Engram, on the other hand, has topped 70 receiving yards in each of the 2 games Beckham has missed -- including last week's 12-target, 8-catch outing. He gets a better matchup than his WR teammates against a Colts D that ranks 7th worst vs. TEs in our adjusted fantasy points allowed.
Giants WR Odell Beckham (quad) is out for this weekend's game against the Titans. After putting in a limited practice on Wednesday, he was sidelined on Thursday and Friday. So he's not a lock to return for Week 16. Beckham's absence again leaves Sterling Shepard as New York's #1 WR against the Titans on Sunday. Shepard saw just 6 targets last week -- but that was a team-high and 27% of the total. He's a nice WR3 with QB Eli Manning likely to throw it more this weekend.
The Giants have ruled WR Odell Beckham out for Sunday’s game at Washington. Beckham shows up on the Friday injury report as a limited participant after sustaining a quad bruise. The team today determined that he won’t be able to play. That obviously raises the target ceilings for WR Sterling Shepard and TE Evan Engram, while also lowering the fantasy floor for QB Eli Manning. Fortunately, he didn’t look attractive for lineups anyway. The loss of 1 of the Giants’ 2 best players also raises the floor for the Washington defense, which is a decent streaming option.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (back) is not listed on the final injury report. He had a procedure early in the week to remove a cyst from his back but put in full practices on Thursday and Friday. Shepard is a low-end fantasy play vs. Carolina’s 10th-ranked WR defense.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (back) returned to a full practice on Thursday. He'll play against the Panthers' 10th-ranked WR defense this weekend. Shepard is a low-end WR3 in that matchup.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard was held out of Wednesday's practice after having a procedure to remove a cyst from his lower back, HC Pat Shurmur said. Shurmur added that he expects Shepard back at practice later this week, which presumably means he'll play against the Panthers on Sunday. We'll continue to monitor the situation.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (neck) is out for Sunday's game against the Redskins. WR Tavarres King (concussion) is also out, leaving Roger Lewis and Travis Rudolph as New York's top 2 WRs. Lewis has racked up 32 targets and 15 catches over the past 3 weeks. He's a lower-end WR3 option in PPR leagues.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (neck) and TE Evan Engram (ribs) missed Wednesday's practice. Engram is dealing with bruised ribs; we haven't gotten an update on Shepard's injury. Both guys are iffy for Sunday's finale vs. the Redskins.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 15 injury report. He was limited on Thursday and Friday but obviously isn’t in danger of missing Sunday’s game against the Eagles. The hamstring still adds a bit of risk to his fantasy outlook, especially after Shepard busted with a 2-catch, 16-yard outing last week.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) was limited in Thursday's practice. He was off the injury report altogether on Wednesday, so it's unclear if he suffered a setback or if the Giants are just giving him some rest. Check back for another update tomorrow.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) is active for today’s game against the Cowboys. There were conflicting reports on his status this morning, but Shepard obviously felt good enough in pregame warmups. There’s a bit more risk here than usual, but a plus matchup makes him worth starting in most cases.
ESPN's Jordan Raanan and Dan Graziano both expect Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) to play against the Cowboys today. That conflicts with an earlier report from NFL.com that Shepard was unlikely to go. Shepard told Raanan on Friday that he "didn't feel the hamstring at all" and was "running at full speed" in practice. We'll find out his official status by noon ET. If active, Shepard will be a risk/reward WR2.
NFL.com reports that Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) "likely will not" play against the Cowboys today. It's a bit surprising after he was able to get in 2 limited practices this week. We'll find out Shepard's official status by noon ET, but he obviously belongs on fantasy benches for now. His absence will again leave Roger Lewis and Tavarres King as New York's top 2 WRs. It's also worth noting that TE Evan Engram has struggled the last 2 games Shepard has missed, posting lines of 1-9 and 3-18.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Cowboys. He put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan expects Shepard to play — and we’ll find out for sure by noon ET on Sunday. The hamstring obviously adds some risk, but Shepard will be worth starting in most cases vs. a Dallas defense that’s struggled against slot receivers.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. Interim HC Steve Spagnuolo wouldn't commit to Shepard playing this weekend, though, only saying that he's "hopeful." We'll get another update tomorrow.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard missed Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury. It's the 1st we've heard of it after Shepard played 61 of 62 snaps last week. We'll see if he's able to get back on the field tomorrow.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (migraines) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He'll return for a plus matchup against the Raiders, although the switch to QB Geno Smith adds some risk to Shepard’s outlook.
