Will Grier Fantasy Football News 2020

Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater "got in some practice work today and it went well," according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. That has the team optimistic he'll play against the Lions on Sunday, as long as his injured knee responds will overnight. It reportedly remains a "true game-time decision."

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that it's "still an uphill battle" for Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater to get his injured knee ready for Sunday's game against the Lions and that it's looking like a game-time decision. It's not yet clear whether P.J. Walker or Will Grier would start in his place. So avoid Panthers QBs this week if you can.

Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) is now "unlikely" to play against the Lions on Sunday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It sounds like the start of the practice week hasn't gone too well for Teddy. We're expecting QB P.J. Walker to get the start for Carolina, although there was a report from ESPN that Walker and QB Will Grier could split snaps. It's a situation to avoid in Week 11 fantasy lineups. WRs Robby Anderson, D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel need to be downgraded.

Panthers QB Will Grier was benched in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the Saints after completing 1 of 8 passes for 4 yards and an INT. It was a truly pathetic performance. Between the preseason and his 2 regular-season starts, Grier has shown nothing to suggest that he has much of an NFL future. QB Kyle Allen will close out the season for Carolina.

The Panthers are expected to start QB Will Grier against the Colts this weekend, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Carolina selected Grier with the 100th overall pick of this spring's draft after he completed 65.7% of his passes and averaged 9.4 yards per attempt in his 2 seasons as West Virginia's starter. Grier earned Pro Football Focus’ 2nd-best passing grade last year (behind only Kyler Murray) and was 1 of our favorite sleepers in this year's QB class. He struggled in preseason action, though. And the fact that it took Carolina this long to turn to him is a concern. Grier isn't a viable Week 16 fantasy play -- but it's tough to see him being a downgrade from QB Kyle Allen, who's averaged just 6.7 yards per attempt with 10 INTs over his last 5 games.

The Panthers nabbed West Virginia QB Will Grier with the 100th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. Grier was a 2-year starter for West Virginia after transferring from Florida. He completed 65.7% of his passes and averaged 9.4 yards per attempt in his 2 seasons in Morgantown. Grier earned Pro Football Focus’ 2nd-best passing grade in 2018 (behind Kyler Murray) and ranked 6th in this draft class in adjusted completion rate. He wasn’t a rushing threat at West Virginia but did post a 58th percentile SPARQ score at the Combine. Grier should be considered the favorite to win the backup job behind Cam Newton in 2019 and has some long-term starter potential.
