Xavier Rhodes Fantasy Football News 2019

Vikings S Andrew Sendejo (groin) will miss his 4th straight game today. He's inactive for the clash with the Lions. Lead CB Xavier Rhodes, however, will play through a "questionable" tag for a foot issue.

Vikings S Andrew Sendejo (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions. He practiced all week, putting in a full workout Friday after missing the past 3 games and not practicing at all over that span. Sendejo looks on track to play, but it's not a great matchup. Consider him an option but not a special target. CB Xavier Rhodes is also questionable for the game with a foot injury that limited him in practice all week and cost him the Week 8 clash with New Orleans. We'll check Rhodes' status Sunday. He's not an IDP option even if active, but his absence would help Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay.

Vikings lead CB Xavier Rhodes (foot) is inactive for tonight's game against the Saints. That can only help the already positive fantasy outlook for Saints WR Michael Thomas. DT Linval Joseph (ankle) is active after missing last week's game. The Minnesota defense will also be without starters S Andrew Sendejo and LB Anthony Barr.

The Vikings have ruled out LB Anthony Barr (hamstring) and S Andrew Sendejo (groin) for Sunday night's game against the Saints. CB Xavier Rhodes (foot) and DT Linval Joseph (ankle) are questionable for the game. None of the 4 would be a strong IDP candidate anyway. But missing Joseph would hurt the run D and losing Rhodes would damage the coverage. Pro Football Focus grades Barr top-9 among off-ball LBs in run D and pass-rushing. Losing him brightens the outlook a bit for the New Orleans run game.

The Vikings will have CB Xavier Rhodes (hip) and LB Anthony Barr (hamstring) on the field for today's game against the Steelers. Each entered the day questionable. Neither is much of an IDP option.

Vikings DE Jared Allen proved his Tuesday ankle issue wasn't serious by returning to practice Wednesday morning.  Allen rolled his left ankle late in Tuesday's workout but appears to be fine.  Meanwhile, 2 other defenders -- rookie CB Xavier Rhodes and LB Desmond Bishop -- are returning more slowly from hamstring injuries.  The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that both will do some light work Wednesday afternoon but that each is unlikely to play in Friday night's preseason opener.

Minnesota spent its 2nd pick of Round 1 on Florida State CB Xavier Rhodes.  The former Seminole brings great size to match up with divisional foes such as Bears WR Brandon Marshall and Detroit WR Calvin Johnson.  The Vikings' lack of depth at the position offers a fairly clear path to early starting duty.  Rhodes brings some big-play ability with 8 INTs and 23 pass breakups over 3 years at FSU.
