Shark Bites

The Colts have ruled DT Margus Hunt (knee) and S Clayton Geathers (neck, concussion) out for Sunday's game against the Jets. Each put in 1 limited practice this week, so we'll see if either is ready to return for Week 7.

Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) isn’t listed on the final injury report after a full week of practice. We’re expecting him to return as Indy’s lead ball-carrier, but RB Nyheim Hines should continue to dominate passing-down work. Mack would be a desperation Week 6 fantasy play.

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) is out for Sunday's game against the Jets. He didn't practice all week and his status beyond Week 6 remains unclear. It's worth noting that Indy's bye isn't until Week 9. Chester Rogers and Ryan Grant will continue to serve as the team's top 2 WRs.

Colts TE Jack Doyle (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets. He was unable to practice this week and still has no timetable for return.

Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) put in a full practice on Wednesday. That presumably puts him on track to return for this weekend's game against the Jets. We're expecting Mack to step back in as Indy's lead ball carrier, but RB Nyheim Hines should continue to dominate passing-down work.

Colts HC Frank Reich labeled WR T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) and TE Jack Doyle (hip) "week-to-week." That doesn't sound promising for their chances of playing against the Jets on Sunday. Hilton's absence would again leave Chester Rogers and Ryan Grant as Indy's top 2 WRs -- and low-end fantasy options in PPR leagues. And Doyle's absence would mean another big workload for TE Eric Ebron.

Chiefs OLB Justin Houston suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's win over the Jaguars that could cost him a few weeks, according to NFL.com's Mike Garofolo. That would take a key pass rusher out of the Chiefs D for as long as Houston misses. We'll see how long he stays sidelined. IDP owners shouldn't have much trouble locating a replacement.

Chiefs OLB Justin Houston left Sunday's win over the Jaguars in the 1st half with a hamstring injury and did not return. We'll see about his status heading into a Sunday night matchup with the Patriots in Week 6.

Colts MLB Anthony Walker left Thursday night's game against the Patriots with a concussion. He'll need to pass through the league protocol before returning to action. Indy promoted rookie Skai Moore from the practice squad earlier Thursday. He might be in the mix for a start if Walker and/or Darius Leonard (ankle) remains out into Week 6.

Colts S Clayton Geathers left in the 1st half of Thursday night's game against the Patriots and did not return. The team eventually ruled him out with a concussion and a neck injury. That, however, followed Indy initially saying he cleared the concussion protocol and deeming his return "questionable." We'll see about Geathers' status heading into Week 6. Matthias Farley stepped in and grabbed a 3rd-quarter INT.

Colts K Adam Vinatieri (groin) is active for tonight's game against the Patriots. With Indy missing T.Y. Hilton and Jack Doyle, Vinatieri isn't a recommended fantasy play.

Colts S Clayton Geathers (knee) is active for tonight's game against the Patriots. He entered the night questionable, just like he had the past 2 weeks. Elsewhere on the Colts D, CB Nate Hairston (ankle) is active but not playing. Fellow CB Kenny Moore had already been ruled out. Neither corner is much of an IDP option when healthy, but all the injuries can only help New England's passing outlook.

Just after making him officially active for Thursday night's game against the Patriots, the Colts announced that LB Darius Leonard will not dress for the game. He sprained his left ankle in Sunday's OT loss to the Texans. Leonard missed just 1 of 86 snaps in that game but apparently isn't ready to go. Anthony Walker is the only Indy LB that you can count on in IDP lineups for Week 5.

The Colts list K Adam Vinatieri (groin) as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Patriots. He returned to a limited practice on Wednesday after sitting out Tuesday. The Colts have yet to add a K, so we're expecting Vinatieri to play. But you might want to roll with a safer K in Week 5 fantasy lineups.

Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) is out for Thursday night's game against the Patriots. That'll again leave the backfield to Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines. Hines has posted 5+ catches in 3 of 4 games this season and is a RB3 or flex option in PPR leagues.

As expected, Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (hamstring, chest) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Patriots. We'll see if he can get back for Week 6. Hilton's absence leaves Ryan Grant, Chester Rogers and Zach Pascal as the Colts' top 3 WRs.

Colts TE Jack Doyle (hip) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Patriots. He didn't practice all week and has no timetable for return. Eric Ebron will again serve as Indy's lead TE on Thursday and is a solid fantasy starter. He's posted back-to-back 5-catch outings on 21 total targets.

Colts K Adam Vinatieri missed Tuesday's practice with a right groin injury. He was listed as a full participant on Monday. It's unclear if he suffered a setback or just got the day off. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Colts TE Jack Doyle (hip) remained sidelined on Tuesday. He's not going to play against the Patriots on Thursday night. That'll again make Eric Ebron a viable TE1. He's seen 21 targets over the past 2 weeks.

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) did not participate in the team's Tuesday walkthrough, according to insider George Bremer. HC Frank Reich seemed to confirm earlier in the day that Hilton won't play against the Patriots on Thursday night. 'We'll miss TY, but at the same time you’ve just got to have the next-man-up mentality," Reich said. The Colts will roll with Ryan Grant, Chester Rogers and Zach Pascal as their top 3 WRs.
