ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Patriots RB James White (ankle) is not expected to play against the Jets today. With RBs Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee also out with their knee injuries, New England is down to RBs Dion Lewis and Brandon Bolden. Look for Lewis to get as much as he can handle. He's a locked-in RB1 for Week 17.
Patriots S Devin McCourty (shoulder) and LB Kyle Van Noy (calf) are questionable for Sunday's finale against the Jets. Van Noy has missed the past 3 games with this injury and probably isn't a good play even if active. McCourty hasn't missed a snap in the past 3 games and put in limited practices all week. We'll confirm each player's status on Sunday.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Patriots RB James White (ankle) is not expected to play against the Bills today. He entered the weekend questionable. With White and Rex Burkhead out, New England is expected to have only Dion Lewis, Mike Gillislee and Brandon Bolden active in the backfield. There's potential for Lewis to increase his goal-line chances and pass targets. Gillislee carries TD upside, though it's tough to know how big his role after he spent the past 6 weeks as a healthy scratch. He's only a DFS option. Bolden is almost solely a special-teams contributor.
Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game against the 49ers. He’s unlikely to play in the regular-season finale, either. WR Allen Hurns (ankle) is listed as questionable. He has a shot to play but admitted this week that he’s still not close to 100%. Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole remain the 2 best fantasy bets in Jacksonville’s WR corps.
The Patriots are "optimistic" that RB Rex Burkhead (knee) will be back for the playoffs, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Burkhead has been diagnosed with a sprained knee and is expected to miss the final 2 weeks of the regular season. It's a big loss considering he'd averaged 7.6 carries, 4 targets and 1 TD per game over the last 7. RB Dion Lewis figures to pick up most of Burkhead's ball-carrying role. The targets could be split between Lewis and RB James White. We'll see if RB Mike Gillislee is active for Sunday's game against the Bills.
Jaguars WR Marqise Lee got "good news" on his injured ankle after a Monday MRI, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He’ll be back by the playoffs or sooner," Rapoport adds. It sounds like Lee is dealing with a minor, low-ankle sprain and even has a shot to play against the 49ers. We'll track his status throughout the week.
ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Patriots RB Rex Burkhead's knee injury is not believed to be major. Schefter specifically mentions that Burkhead's ACL is intact. "He could miss a little time," though, Schefter adds. We'll look for a more detailed diagnosis tomorrow, but we wouldn't count on Burkhead playing against the Bills in Week 16. That'd leave Dion Lewis as New England's lead back, James White in an expanded pass-catching role and possibly Mike Gillislee back on the active roster.
Patriots RB Rex Burkhead suffered a left knee injury in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game in Pittsburgh and was quickly ruled out for the rest of the contest. That, of course, suggests a serious injury. We'll look for an update after the game.
X-rays on Jaguars WR Marqise Lee's ankle came back clean, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Lee is dealing with a sprain, the severity of which will be determined by an MRI on Monday. Check back then for another update, but fantasy owners need to start making other plans for Week 16.
Jaguars WR Marqise Lee injured his ankle in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game against the Texans and is questionable to return. We'll pass along an update when we get one.
Patriots DE Trey Flowers is questionable once again for Sunday's game against the Steelers. He missed the past 2 games with a rib injury, but ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss reports that Flowers "made solid progress" this week and is nearing a return. Flowers said he hopes to play, according to the Providence Journal. LB Kyle Van Noy (calf) is questionable after missing last week. We'll confirm the status for each guy around 3 p.m. ET Sunday when the inactives come out -- and pass along any other updates that might arrive in the meantime.
Patriots DE Trey Flowers (rib) and LB Kyle Van Noy (calf) are questionable for Sunday's game in Buffalo. Both players put in limited practices all week, though. We'd bet on them playing but will confirm their status Sunday morning.
Patriots S Patrick Chung (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. He missed practice Wednesday but returned for Thursday and Friday workouts. We'll update his status Sunday morning.
Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (knee) is active. He’s just a WR4 vs. Cincinnati’s 6th-ranked WR defense.
Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Bengals after only putting in 1 limited practice on Friday. He went through the same routine back in Week 7, played vs. the Colts and hauled in 4 balls for 72 yards. Lee should play on Sunday but gets a much tougher matchup vs. the league’s 6th-ranked WR defense.
The Patriots and QB Brian Hoyer have agreed to a 3-year deal. He slides back in as QB Tom Brady's backup, a role he served from 2009 to 2011. Hoyer, of course, remains off the fantasy radar.
The 49ers have released QB Brian Hoyer. He was 3rd on the depth chart after the big trade for QB Jimmy Garoppolo. Hoyer might latch on with the Patriots, who need a backup QB after shipping away both Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett this year. Hoyer spent the first 3 seasons of his career in New England.
The Browns have ruled CB Jason McCourty (ankle) out for the 2nd straight game. That leaves Cleveland without its top cover guy and enhances the matchup for Vikings WR Stefon Diggs.
Colts OLB John Simon left Sunday's loss to the Jaguars early with a shoulder stinger, and it sounds significant. HC Chuck Pagano told reporters Monday that Simon will "miss some time." That at least puts a key pass rusher and edge run defender out for this weekend's trip to Cincinnati.
Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (knee) is active for today’s game against the Colts. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, so it’s tough to believe he’ll be anywhere close to 100%. Lee is a risky Week 7 fantasy option, despite a plus matchup.
