Giants QB Daniel Jones injured his right leg -- it looked like his hamstring -- in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game against the Bengals. Stay tuned for an update.
Giants WR Darius Slayton suffered a shoulder injury in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game against the Eagles. He headed back to the locker room with trainers and is officially questionable to return. We'll pass along an update when we get one.
Update: Slayton returned in the 2nd quarter.
Giants HC Joe Judge said WR Golden Tate was back at team headquarters Monday and that he expects the veteran to play Sunday against the Eagles, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. Tate spent Week 9 inactive over behavioral issues. He totaled just 6 targets over the 3 games before that, though. So it's tough to imagine Tate being an option for fantasy football lineups in Week 10.
The Giants plan to make WR Golden Tate a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against Washington, according to NFL Network's Kim Jones. "The decision was made due to overall issues with effort & performance," she tweeted. "Tate has a chance to return to the lineup next week." C.J. Board and Austin Mack are the next guys up on the depth chart, but we wouldn't consider either a meaningful fantasy option. Tate has totaled just 6 targets over the past 3 games -- only 2 of which included Sterling Shepard.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard (toe) is active for tonight's game against the Eagles. It'll be his 1st action since Week 2. Shepard is a low-upside fantasy play in New York's struggling offense.
The Giants have placed rookie LB Tae Crowder on IR with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's win over Washington. That will keep the rookie out for at least 3 games. He's not worth holding in IDP leagues. The team filled Crowder's spot on the roster by signing Jabaal Sheard off Jacksonville's practice squad. Sheard will line up at OLB for the Giants but might carry DL eligibility in many IDP leagues. That makes him worth watching. The Giants recently lost starting OLB Lorenzo Carter for the season to an Achilles' tendon tear. Kyler Fackrell has become a full-time player at the position in recent weeks, but Markus Golden has struggled to stay in the lineup. Sheard's addition might also mean that Oshane Ximines will need more time to recover from the shoulder injury that landed him on IR 2 weeks ago.
Giants WR Darius Slayton (foot) was limited in practice this week and is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Eagles. Slayton played through this injury last week, but we saw him limping a couple of times. Don't expect him to be at 100% vs. Philly.
Giants DL Dexter Lawrence (knee) is active for today’s game against Washington. He put in limited practices all week and gets an upside matchup. Lawrence is just a lower-level IDP, though. He sits in DL4 territory in our Week 6 IDP rankings.
Giants WR Darius Slayton (foot) is active for today’s game against Washington. He was limited in practice all week, adding some risk to his Week 6 fantasy profile.
Giants WR Darius Slayton (foot) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Washington. We’ve heard nothing to suggest that he’s in real danger of missing this one, but the foot issue adds risk to his profile.
The Newark Star-Ledger's Zack Rosenblatt believes Giants WR Sterling Shepard (toe) is "unlikely" to play against Washington on Sunday. He's eligible to come off IR this week, but a Week 7 return looks more likely. Darius Slayton, Golden Tate and Evan Engram will continue to operate as the top 3 options in the Giants' passing game.
The Giants expect WR Sterling Shepard to return to practice this week, according to the team's official website. Shepard missed the past 3 games with a toe injury. HC Joe Judge said he wants to see Shepard practice before determining whether the wideout will be ready to come off IR for Sunday's game against Washington. We'll watch his progress. Even if Shepard doesn't play in Week 6, he's worth a look as a potential Week 6 waiver pickup in leagues that saw him dropped.
Giants S Jabrill Peppers is active for today’s game against the Cowboys. He missed Week 4 with the low-ankle sprain and still carries some risk but is available for IDP lineups if you were planning to use him
Giants S Jabrill Peppers is questionable for Sunday's game at Dallas. He put in limited practices all week after missing last Sunday's game with a low-ankle sprain. The team will continue evaluating him through the weekend before determining his status for the game, according to NorthJersey.com. The 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday afternoon will make Peppers hard for IDP owners to wait for -- especially with the ankle adding some risk even if he does play. We'll check his status when the inactives come out.
Giants S Jabrill Peppers put in a limited practice Wednesday. That marked progress from Week 4, where he sat out every day with a low-ankle sprain and ultimately missed the game. We'll watch his progress through the week to see if Peppers is ready to return against the Cowboys this Sunday.
Giants DB Julian Love (ankle, knee) is active for today’s game against the Rams. He carries big tackle upside against a strong Rams offense, especially with S Jabrill Peppers out.
As expected, the Giants have officially ruled S Jabrill Peppers (ankle) out for Sunday's game against the Rams. DB Julian Love (ankle, knee) is questionable for the game. We'll check his status Sunday morning.
Giants S Jabrill Peppers left Sunday's loss to the 49ers with an ankle injury. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that it's believed to be a low-ankle sprain. Peppers is likely headed for further evaluation Monday, so we'll see about his outlook for Week 4 and beyond. Julian Love filled in for Peppers, logging a team-high 11 tackles. He'd in play for IDP lineups vs. the Rams on Sunday if Peppers misses further time.
The Giants have placed WR Sterling Shepard on IR. So he'll miss at least the next 3 games with his turf toe. That's an injury that tends to linger, so we'll see exactly when Shepard is able to get back on the field. His absence will mean more targets for WR Darius Slayton, WR Golden Tate and TE Evan Engram.
Giants WR Sterling Shepard came away from Sunday's loss to the Bears with turf toe. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, he's expected to miss at least this week's clash with the 49ers. Shepard's return timeline beyond that is not yet clear.
