Shark Bites

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. HC Jon Gruden said earlier this week that he didn't expect Jacobs to play vs. the Colts on Sunday -- but it looks like he at least has an outside chance to suit up. We'll update Jacobs' status again tomorrow.

Raiders HC Jon Gruden said Monday that he's "not confident" RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) will be able to return for Sunday's game against the Colts. So it's looking like his ankle injury is more serious than initially reported. RB Devontae Booker's fantasy production was disappointing as Vegas' lead back vs. the Jets, but he did handle 16 of 23 RB carries and 2 of 4 RB targets. The tough matchup vs. Indianapolis will leave him as a low-end RB2 for Week 14, though.

The Raiders have ruled S Johnathan Abram (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Jets. That likely puts Erik Harris into the starting lineup next to Jeff Heath.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets. His injury reportedly isn't serious, so he would seem to have a good shot to return for Week 14. His absence this week leaves RB Devontae Booker as Vegas' lead back. He's been good this season, averaging 5.5 yards per carry and ranking 21st in Pro Football Focus' Elusive Rating among 65 RBs with 50+ carries. Booker might lose some passing-down work to RBs Jalen Richard and/or Theo Riddick, but he's a good bet for 15+ carries in a good spot vs. the Jets.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) remained sidelined on Thursday. His injury reportedly isn't serious, but he's starting to look very iffy for this weekend's game against the Jets. His absence would leave Devontae Booker as Vegas' lead back in a good spot. Check back tomorrow for another update on the situation.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. His injury reportedly isn't serious, but he's not a lock to play against the Jets this weekend. We'll see if he's able to get back on the field on Thursday. Jacobs' absence would turn RB Devontae Booker into a plug-and-play fantasy starter.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) "has a chance" to play against the Jets this weekend, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Tests confirmed that Jacobs has a relatively minor ankle sprain, and it sounds like how he feels in practice throughout the week will determine whether he plays on Sunday. We'll keep a close eye on his status. RB Devontae Booker remains worth stashing in almost all fantasy leagues.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs' ankle injury "looked worse than it is," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jacobs is scheduled for additional testing on Monday to get a better look at the sprain. We'll see if he's able to play against the Jets this weekend, but backup RB Devontae Booker is definitely worth a scoop-and-stash.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs appeared to injure an ankle on a 3rd-quarter carry in Sunday’s game against the Falcons and did not return. It’s possible the fact that Vegas was getting blown out played a part in Jacobs being held out, but we’ll look for an update on his status tomorrow. Devontae Booker will step in as the Raiders' lead back if Jacobs misses more time.

The Raiders on Thursday placed LB Cory Littleton on the COVID list. It's not clear whether Littleton got there by testing positive or being in close contact with someone who did. The timing figures to challenge his ability to make it back for Sunday's game against the Broncos. You should have another plan for your IDP lineup, especially given Littleton's poor production this season.

Raiders CB Trayvon Mullen (hamstring) is active for today's game against the Chargers. He's a low-level IDP option at best but available if you were planning to use him.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (knee, illness) is active for today’s game against the Chargers. We never heard any concern about his status and expect him to play his usual role in this one.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (knee, illness) is expected to play against the Chargers today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. We never heard any concern about Jacobs' status. Keep him locked into fantasy lineups.

Raiders WR Bryan Edwards (foot, ankle) is set to return for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. He’s not a fantasy option but might steal some snaps from WR Nelson Agholor.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (knee, illness) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Chargers. He was a full-go on Wednesday, sidelined on Thursday and limited on Friday. The Athletic’s Tashan Reed reports that Jacobs will play on Sunday. Keep him penciled into fantasy lineups for now. We’ll let you know if something changes with his status.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs didn't practice on Thursday and is on the injury report with a knee and illness. We're guessing it's the illness that kept Jacobs out after he was a full-go on Wednesday, but his status is worth checking back on tomorrow.

The forecast for today's Raiders-Browns game calls for sustained winds of 25-30 mph with gusts around 45 mph. If that holds, it'll be 1 of the windier games in recent memory. It'll definitely impact the deep passing and kicking games. We've scaled back our passing projections for both teams and would avoid both kickers in this game. We could see heavy doses of RBs Josh Jacobs and Kareem Hunt today.

The Raiders have placed S Johnathan Abram on the COVID list. That doesn't necessarily mean the starting safety will miss Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. But it does mean you should make other plans. We already had Abram well down our Week 7 DB rankings anyway. If Abram can't go, then it looks like S Jeff Heath would step in.

11:10am EDT 10/11/20

Raiders WR Henry Ruggs (hamstring) is active for today’s game against the Chiefs. He put in full practices on Thursday and Friday, so he should be close to 100%. Consider the rookie a boom/bust WR3 in what could turn into a shootout in Kansas City.

Raiders WR Henry Ruggs (hamstring) is "hoping" to play against the Chiefs today, although no final decision on his status has been made, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Ruggs was listed as a full participant on both Thursday and Friday, so we'd be surprised if he doesn't play. We'll find out for sure around 11:30 am ET.
