Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (foot) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Rams. He was added to the injury report on Friday and limited in practice. JuJu dealt with a toe injury earlier this season, although it's unclear if this is at all related. We'll look for updates on his status. Steelers-Rams doesn't kick off until 4:25 pm ET on Sunday.

Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) is out for this weekend's game against the Rams. He put in a limited practice on Wednesday but was sidelined on Thursday and Friday, so it looks like he suffered a setback. RB Trey Edmunds (ribs) was a full-go on Friday and isn't listed on the final injury report. Edmunds actually out-carried RB Jaylen Samuels 12 to 8 last week -- although Samuels, of course, dominated passing-down work with 13 targets.

Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) isn't expected to play against the Rams this weekend, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac. With Conner out last week, RB Jaylen Samuels played 65% of the offensive snaps and handled 8 carries and 13 targets. RB Trey Edmunds tallied a 27% snap rate, 12 carries and 0 targets. Edmunds missed practice on Wednesday with a rib injury, so we'll need to monitor his status.

Steelers insider Dale Lolley says HC Mike Tomlin sounded "optimistic" about RB James Conner's availability for this weekend's game against the Rams during his press conference on Tuesday. Tomlin expects Conner to be limited in practice to start the week. We'll monitor his progress over the next few days.

Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game against the Colts. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported this morning that Conner might also miss Week 10. Jaylen Samuels should dominate backfield work today and is a borderline RB1.

Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) won't play against the Colts today and "also is in jeopardy" of missing next week's game against the Rams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. RB Benny Snell (knee) is expected to miss Week 10, so Jaylen Samuels might get another game in a feature-back role. We'll track Conner's status this coming week.

Colts TE Eric Ebron (ankle) isn’t listed on the final Week 9 injury report. He was added to the injury report on Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday. Ebron could be in for an expanded role in the passing game against the Steelers this weekend with T.Y. Hilton out.

Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) didn't practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Colts. With RB Benny Snell (knee) also out, RB Jaylen Samuels will be in a feature role. In 3 starts last season, he totaled 223 rushing yards, 12 catches, 105 receiving yards and a score. Samuels is a borderline RB1 vs. a Colts squad sitting 29th in Football Outsiders' run defense rankings.

Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. "It seems more and more likely" that Conner won't play against the Colts this weekend, ESPN's Brooke Pryor writes. With RB Benny Snell also out after knee surgery, RB Jaylen Samuels appears to be in for a feature role. We just updated our projections for the Steelers backfield.

Steelers RB Benny Snell is expected to miss 2-3 weeks after undergoing surgery to trim the meniscus in his injured knee. That means RB Jaylen Samuels will be locked into a feature role against the Colts this Sunday if RB James Conner's shoulder injury keeps him out.

Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday. His injury isn't believed to be serious, but he shouldn't be considered a lock to play against the Colts this weekend. Conner's absence would make Jaylen Samuels a borderline RB1 in a feature role.

Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels (knee) is "ready to go" for Week 9, HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday. Samuels was a full-go in practice all last week before being ruled inactive for Monday night's game against Miami. His return comes at a good time after RBs James Conner (shoulder) and Benny Snell (knee) both left the Dolphins game with injuries. Conner reportedly has a shot to play against the Colts this weekend. But Samuels should be owned in all fantasy leagues at this point.

Steelers RB James Conner left Monday night's win over the Dolphins late with a shoulder injury. HC Mike Tomlin said after the game that it's an AC-joint issue that they'll evaluate further Tuesday. We'll see how significant the injury is. Pittsburgh also lost RB Benny Snell to a knee injury earlier in the game. RB Jaylen Samuels seems to be trending toward a Week 9 return, though.

11:10pm EDT 10/28/19

Steelers rookie RB Benny Snell left Monday night's game against the Dolphins with a knee injury and has been ruled out. Pittsburgh led comfortably in the 2nd half when Snell's status was announced, but ruling Snell out points to an issue at least worth watching. RB Jaylen Samuels appears on the verge of returning, which would marginalize Snell's role anyway.

Steelers ILB Mark Barron (hamstring) is active for tonight's game against the Dolphins. He missed Week 6 but managed full practices on 2 of 3 days this week. Barron remains a risky IDP, as we don't yet know how he and Vince Williams might split playing time. But Barron's available if you waited for him.

Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels is inactive for tonight's game against the Dolphins. He entered the night questionable after returning to full practices all week. But Samuels is just 3 weeks removed from arthroscopic knee surgery. It's undoubtedly a good thing Pittsburgh decided to rest him at least another week rather than push Samuels back for a game in which the offense shouldn't need him. Samuels' absence keeps Benny Snell in the #2 RB role.

Steelers ILB Mark Barron is questionable for Monday night's game against the Dolphins. He missed last week's game but sandwiched full practices Thursday and Saturday this week around a limited workout Friday. Barron seems to be trending toward playing. He's not a strong enough IDP to be worth waiting for in most cases, though. And even an active Barron could split time with Vince Williams.

Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels in questionable for Monday night's game against the Dolphins but appears likely to play. He told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that he's "real close" to 100% and put in full practices all week. Samuels seems likely to play, though it'll be risky to wait on him unless you have another Monday night play to sub in. The matchup with Miami does add some sleeper appeal.

Steelers QB Mason Rudolph (concussion) was a full-go in Thursday's practice. It's confirmation that he's on track to return for Monday night's game against the Dolphins. He's a viable play in 2-QB leagues in that plus matchup.

Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels (knee) was listed as a full participant in Thursday's practice. He's seemingly ready to return for Monday night's game against the Dolphins just 3 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. Samuels should slide back in as Pittsburgh's #2 RB and is on the RB3/Flex radar vs. Miami's 31st-ranked RB defense.
