Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) remained sidelined on Wednesday. That makes 4 straight missed practices. The Rams need a win over the 49ers this weekend to lock up the NFC's #1 seed -- but they can probably get it with C.J. Anderson. Gurley seems no better than 50/50 to play in the finale.
The Rams will consider sitting RB Todd Gurley (knee) again in Sunday's finale against the 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. L.A. still needs a win to lock up the NFC's #2 seed, but "nothing is more important than the playoffs," Rapoport adds. Of course, it'll also be easier to keep Gurley sidelined after C.J. Anderson ripped off 167 yards and a score on 20 carries yesterday. Anderson will be a strong fantasy play if Gurley ends up inactive again this weekend.
Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) is INACTIVE for today’s game against the Cardinals. His warmup evidently didn’t go well enough to get the green light. RB Justin Davis (shoulder) is active and joins C.J. Anderson and John Kelly in the backfield. It’s a situation to try to avoid, but if you need 1 of them, Anderson is the best fantasy bet.
Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip, ribs) is active for today’s game against the Panthers. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and was reportedly a game-time decision. Jones isn’t at 100% today and comes with more risk than usual. But he remains a WR1 in season-long lineups.
The Rams are "planning" on RB Todd Gurley (knee) playing against the Cardinals today unless he has a setback in pregame warmups, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That's the clearest report we've gotten on Gurley all week. We still won't get his official status until 2:35 pm ET, but it now sounds like he's more likely to play than not. Gurley still comes with more risk than usual, though, with a chance that he's limited and/or suffers an in-game setback.
"The belief" is that Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip, ribs) will play against the Panthers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jones will go through pre-game warmups before a final decision is made. He's obviously not at 100% but would be awfully tough to bench in season-long leagues.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) remains a game-time decision but that the team will be "cautious" with him. "While some are hopeful that he goes, others point out the team won’t do anything to put him at further risk of injury," Rapoport tweeted. Gurley seems truly 50/50 at this point -- and it looks like we won't get his official status until inactives are announced around 3 pm ET. If you're hoping to use him in fantasy lineups, you need to have a late-game alternative rostered. C.J. Anderson will be the best bet in Los Angeles' backfield if Gurley sits.
Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) didn’t practice all week and will be a game-time decision on Sunday, HC Sean McVay said. McVay was optimistic about Gurley all week but seemed less so on Friday. The situation is complicated by the fact that Rams-Cardinals doesn’t kick off until 4:05 pm ET. We’ll look for an update on Gurley’s status on Sunday morning. The Rams’ official website suggested on Friday that newly signed RB C.J. Anderson would lead the way in carries if Gurley can’t play. Rookie RB John Kelly would also be in the mix. RB Justin Davis (shoulder) is questionable.
Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) is listed as questionable for Week 16 after only getting in a limited practice on Friday. HC Dan Quinn labeled him a game-time decision for this weekend’s tilt with the Panthers. The good news is we’ll get Atlanta’s inactives at 11:30 am ET on Sunday. An active Julio will remain a must-start in season-long leagues.
Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) didn't practice on Thursday and told reporters afterward that he doesn't plan on practicing Friday. But he still expects to play against the Cardinals this weekend. "I think I'll be fine," Gurley said. "Just taking it day by day, recovering, resting, trying to feel better." Gurley clearly comes with more risk than usual in Week 16 but remains a clear-cut RB1. Even at less than 100% over the last 3 weeks, he ranks 4th among RBs in PPR points and 2nd in PPR.
Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) will miss his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. HC Dan Quinn did say that Jones will participate in the team's walkthrough. He only got in a limited practice last week before playing against the Cardinals, and it sounds like Jones will play against the Panthers on Sunday. Check back tomorrow for another update.
Rams HC Sean McVay said Wednesday that the "expectation" is that RB Todd Gurley (knee) will play against the Cardinals this weekend. McVay added that Gurley "came in today feeling better." We'll continue to keep a close eye on this situation, but fantasy owners can expect to have Gurley for Week 16.
Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) did not practice on Wednesday. That's a new injury for Jones and is especially notable after he played just 48% of the offensive snaps last week. He's been playing banged up all season, but we wouldn't consider Jones a lock to suit up against the Panthers this weekend. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.
Rams HC Sean McVay said that RB Todd Gurley is dealing with knee inflammation. So there's no structural damage. Gurley hasn't seemed to be quite at 100% since tweaking that knee in Week 11 against the Chiefs. But he's continued to produce for fantasy squads, with 347 total yards and 4 TDs in the 3 games since. Gurley remains a high-end RB1 for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals.
Falcons RB Ito Smith needs knee surgery and will be placed on IR, HC Dan Quinn said Monday. No word on Smith's exact injury or how long he'll be sidelined. His absence leaves Tevin Coleman and Brian Hill as the only RBs on Atlanta's roster -- although Quinn said he'd consider promoting Jeremy Langford from the practice squad. Either way, Coleman is looking at a hefty workload these final 2 weeks.
Rams HC Sean McVay said RB Todd Gurley will get his left knee evaluated this week. Gurley tweaked the knee early in the 2nd half of Sunday night's game against the Eagles and was deemed questionable to return. He did return a short while later. And while he was seemingly in and out of the game the rest of the way, he ended up playing 83% of the offensive snaps and racking up 22 touches. We'll keep a close eye on Gurley this week, but he should be fine for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Falcons RB Ito Smith (knee, neck) is active for today’s game against the Cardinals. He was limited Wednesday, a full-go Thursday and limited again on Friday. Smith was just a low-end RB3 option to begin with. The knee and neck issues add more risk to his Week 15 profile.
Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot, calf, illness) is not listed on the final injury report. He only got in a limited practice on Friday — but being left off the final injury report is confirmation that he’ll be fine for this weekend’s game against the Cardinals. Even in a matchup with CB Patrick Peterson, Jones remains a WR1.
Falcons RB Ito Smith (knee, neck) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Cardinals. He was limited Wednesday, a full-go Thursday and limited again on Friday. HC Dan Quinn said Friday that he expects Smith to play. Sharing the backfield with Tevin Coleman, he’s just a lower-end RB3.
Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot) didn't practice on Wednesday. He only got in a limited practice on Friday last week -- then went out and posted an 8-106-2 line on the Packers. Jones should be fine for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
