Steelers TE Vance McDonald (shoulder) is active for today’s game against the Ravens. He put in a full practice on Friday, so we’re expecting him to play his usual role.
Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (toe) is active for today’s game against the Ravens. He was reportedly a game-time decision, so that toe must be a real issue. Consider JuJu a WR2 at less than 100%.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster will be "a true game-time decision" with his toe injury today against the Ravens. The wideout did put in a full workout on Friday, which suggests he's likely to play. But this report points to how much the injury might be bothering him. Smith-Schuster will carry risk even if he's active for the game. Weigh that against your other lineup options. We'll update his status when inactives come out at 11:30 a.m. Eastern.
Steelers TE Vance McDonald (shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Ravens. He put in a full practice on Friday, though, so we're expecting McDonald to play. Of course, he's a shaky fantasy option with Mason Rudolph under center.
Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) isn't listed on the final Week 5 injury report. He put in a full practice on Friday after sitting out the previous 2 days. Conner played through this injury last week and shouldn't be impacted by it in Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (toe) is officially questionable for this weekend's game against the Ravens. He was listed as a full participant in Friday's practice but told the media that he did the "bare minimum." We'd still be surprised if JuJu didn't play on Sunday considering he played through this injury last week. We'll get Pittsburgh's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.
Steelers TE Vance McDonald (shoulder) remained sidelined on Thursday. It doesn't look like he'll be ready for this weekend's game against the Ravens, leaving recently acquired Nick Vannett as Pittsburgh's lead TE again.
Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He played through the injury on Monday night and said he'll be "fine" for Week 5. But fantasy owners shouldn't consider Conner a lock to play against the Ravens on Sunday. Check back tomorrow for another update.
Steelers OC Randy Fichtner said Thursday that WR JuJu Smith-Schuster is dealing with a toe injury. "JuJu got a little banged up early in that ball game last week," Fichtner said. "We held him a little bit today. Held him yesterday." Smith-Schuster was officially listed as "did not practice" on Wednesday, and it doesn't sound like he did much on Thursday. He was able to play through the injury on Monday night, so we're expecting him to play against the Ravens this weekend. But we'll continue to keep an eye on JuJu.
In a Tuesday radio appearance, Steelers RB James Conner said the ankle he tweaked in Monday night's win is "fine." He added that he could practice on Wednesday. We'll see if he actually does, but Conner should be available for this weekend's game against the Ravens.
Steelers RB James Conner is being evaluated after injuring his ankle in the win over the Bengals, HC Mike Tomlin said. Conner was able to play through the injury on Monday night, so we'd be surprised if he's not able to go against the Ravens this weekend. Still, the ankle is just another reason to make sure Jaylen Samuels is owned in your league after his usage spiked in Week 4.
Steelers TE Vance McDonald (shoulder) is inactive for tonight’s game against Cincinnati. Meanwhile, newly acquired TE Nick Vannett will make his Steelers debut.
Steelers TE Vance McDonald is doubtful for Monday night's game against the Bengals. He missed practice all week with a shoulder injury. Nick Vannett could be in for immediate action less than a week after Pittsburgh acquired him from the Seahawks. RB Jaylen Samuels -- who played some TE among multiple positions in college -- could also be a part of the fill-in plan.
Steelers TE Vance McDonald (shoulder) missed practice again on Friday. HC Mike Tomlin said earlier in the week that McDonald had a shot to play against the Bengals on Monday night, but it’s not looking great. Check back tomorrow for another update.
Steelers TE Vance McDonald (shoulder) did not practice on Thursday. HC Mike Tomlin is "optimistic" that McDonald will be ready for Monday night's game against the Bengals, but fantasy owners need to have another option lined up.
The Seahawks have traded TE Nick Vannett to the Steelers. This would seem to hint at real concern over TE Vance McDonald's shoulder injury, although NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears McDonald "won't have an extended absence." We'll monitor the situation, but Vannett isn't worth adding to fantasy rosters right now. The bigger impact comes in Seattle, where TE Will Dissly should see a boost in playing time. Vannett had played 39% of Seattle's offensive snaps and run a route on 42% of Russell Wilson's drop backs through 3 weeks. Corresponding numbers for Dissly: 55% and 47%. Both numbers should climb significantly going forward. Dissly has worked his way into the TE1 discussion.
Steelers TE Vance McDonald was in a sling on Tuesday, according to insider Dale Lolley. We still don't have any details on the shoulder injury that knocked McDonald out of last week's game in San Francisco, but it looks like it might be serious. Fantasy owners should be making other plans for Week 4 -- and maybe beyond.
Steelers TE Vance McDonald exited in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the 49ers with a shoulder injury and didn't return. We'll look for an update on his status on Monday.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger does not need Tommy John surgery and "will be fine for next season." Big Ben is slated to undergo elbow surgery this coming week, but "no one is concerned that next year is going to be a problem," a source told Schefter. Roethlisberger is signed with Pittsburgh through the 2021 season and has said that he plans to honor that contract. He turns 38 in March.
Steelers RB James Conner (knee) isn't listed on the final Week 3 injury report. He put in full practices on Thursday and Friday, so that knee shouldn't be an issue. Conner draws a stout 49ers run defense this weekend, but he should have volume on his side -- especially with QB Mason Rudolph making his 1st career start.
