Packers rookie CB Jaire Alexander is inactive for tonight's game against the 49ers. That leaves fellow rookie Josh Jackson to man the slot primarily in Alexander's place. No San Francisco WR gets a significant boost in fantasy outlook.
Colts WR Ryan Grant was knocked out of Sunday's game against the Jets with an ankle injury. Indy is already without WR T.Y. Hilton, leaving them with Chester Rogers, Zach Pascal and Marcus Johnson.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers told the media Thursday that he suffered a setback with his left knee when he took a hit on the opening drive of last week's game vs. the Lions. He didn't practice on Thursday. "Got to be in the rehab group again today, got a lot of good work in with [assistant trainer] Nate [Weir] and just hoping I get back out there tomorrow and have a feel-good Friday and a practice [Sunday] and be good to go -- hopefully back to where I was in Detroit," Rodgers said. He obviously played through the issue last week and isn't in danger of missing Monday night's game against the 49ers. But Rodgers said he might need to play with a bigger brace on that knee. We'll keep an eye on the situation. Rodgers remains a QB1 in fantasy lineups.
Packers HC Mike McCarthy suggested Monday that he'll stick with K Mason Crosby, despite his 4 missed FGs and missed XP in yesterday's 8-point loss to the Lions. "He's a proven highly successful kicker, and I believe in him but he's got to make those kicks," McCarthy said. Crosby has been a reliable K for most of his 12-year career, but fantasy owners should seek out another option for now.
Packers CB Jaire Alexander (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Lions. S Kentrell Brice is active after entering the day questionable with an ankle injury. Neither is much of an IDP candidate.
Packers WR Davante Adams (calf) is active for today’s game against the Lions. He comes with a bit more risk than usual after hurting his calf on Wednesday but still belongs in season-long lineups. WR Geronimo Allison (concussion, hamstring) is inactive, leaving Marquez Valdes-Scantling as the #2 WR. The rookie has some upside as a WR4 or flex.
Packers WR Davante Adams is expected to play Sunday despite a calf strain that has him questionable, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Adams missed practice Thursday but returned to limited workouts Friday and Saturday. He'll carry some risk into a game that should also find him primarily locked up with CB Darius Slay in coverage.
Packers WR Davante Adams (calf) is questionable for this weekend’s game against the Lions. He returned to a limited practice on Friday after injuring his calf on Wednesday and sitting out Thursday. We’ll continue to look for updates on Adams and will find out his official status by noon ET on Sunday.
Browns LB Christian Kirksey is officially questionable for Sunday’s game against the Ravens as he battles the flu. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that the team expects him to play, however. Plan to have Kirksey in your IDP lineups
Packers WR Davante Adams (calf) will practice on Saturday, HC Mike McCarthy said. That presumably gives Adams a shot to play against the Lions this weekend. We'll continue to monitor his progress and will get his official status by noon ET on Sunday.
Packers WR Davante Adams suffered a calf injury on Wednesday and will not practice on Thursday, HC Mike McCarthy announced. Ouch. WRs Geronimo Allison (concussion) and Randall Cobb (hamstring) are already in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Lions. Now Adams looks iffy too. Rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling, J'Mon Moore and Equanimeous St. Brown are the team's top 3 healthy WRs right now.
The Packers rotated 3 RBs in Week 3, and it sounds like that'll remain the game plan going forward. "I really like the rotation of having all three guys because they’re distinctly different, but all three can play all three downs, and that says a lot," HC Mike McCarthy said. "We’ve never had this situation where you have three guys that can play three downs like that, so this will really help us moving forward." Jamaal Williams led the way with a 43% snap rate in last week's loss to the Redskins. Ty Montgomery was next at 29%, and Aaron Jones played 25% of the snaps. The touches went Montgomery 10, Williams 7 and Jones 7. There will be more work to go around when the Packers aren't playing from behind like they were in Week 3. But this committee might make all 3 guys tough to trust in fantasy lineups.
Packers DE Muhammad Wilkerson suffered a "significant" ankle injury in Sunday's game at Washington, HC Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday. The injury required Wilkerson to have an unspecified procedure on the ankle before he could travel back to Green Bay. We'll await further word on the injury, but it sure sounds like this will end Wilkerson's season. McCarthy also revealed Monday that OLB Nick Perry has entered the league concussion protocol. He'll need to clear that before playing in an upside sack matchup against the Bills on Sunday.
Update: ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports that Wilkerson's season is over.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) is active for today’s game against the Redskins. There was never any doubt about his availability. Rodgers still isn’t at 100% but is safe to get into fantasy lineups.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) will play against the Redskins today. He's listed as questionable, but there was never any doubt that he'd be out there. Rodgers' mobility will be limited again, but he's a fine QB1 play vs. a beatable Washington defense.
The Packers list QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Redskins. He hasn’t practiced yet this week but will take part in Saturday’s workout. Rodgers is fully expected to play on Sunday and has a much easier matchup than last week, when he finished as QB19 against the Vikings.
Browns LB Christian Kirksey is expected to miss his 2nd straight game. He's doubtful for Thursday night's matchup with the Jets because of shoulder and ankle injuries. James Burgess started in Kirksey's place in Week 2 and played 62% of the snaps, which isn't a trustworthy level for IDP usage. Jamie Collins, however, stayed on the field for every snap in Kirksey's absence after playing just 61% of the snaps in Week 1. He's usable in moderately deep IDP leagues with Kirksey out. Cleveland will also miss DE Emmanuel Ogbah again. He's out for the 2nd straight game with an ankle injury.
Packers RB Mike McCarthy said Wednesday that Aaron Jones will be returning from his 2-game suspension as the #3 RB. "Jamaal [Williams] and Ty [Montgomery] have played good football," McCarthy said. "I know what Aaron gives us, but his role will be secondary. Jamaal and Ty will be in the first slot." This shouldn't come as a surprise and doesn't mean Jones can't quickly climb the depth chart. He's a strong bench stash but shouldn't be in Week 3 fantasy lineups.
Packers WR Davante Adams (shoulder) is active for today’s game against the Vikings. He’s in a tough spot at less than 100% with a gimpy Aaron Rodgers and likely to draw CB Xavier Rhodes. Consider Adams a WR2 for the week.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Vikings. His mobility both inside and out of the pocket will be limited. He's a borderline QB1 for Week 2 at less than 100% against a tough defense.
