As expected, WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets. He visited a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh this week and is reportedly a candidate for IR. Shepard's absence again leaves Golden Tate and rookie Darius Slayton as New York's top 2 WRs this weekend.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard went to Pittsburgh on Wednesday to meet with Dr. Joseph Maroon, a neurologist and concussion specialist, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano. The team is reportedly considering placing Shepard on IR because of the issue. The wideout has sustained 2 concussions this season. He seemed near a return last week but then experienced concussion symptoms again. That kept him out Monday night and prompted the Pittsburgh trip. You can hang on to Shepard now (if possible) until we learn more, but you also must plan as though you won't get him back to your fantasy football roster this season. Shepard's continued absence would help the target outlook for Giants rookie WR Darius Slayton.

Giants TE Evan Engram will not play Sunday because of the mid-foot sprain to his left foot, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano. Engram reportedly called it a "low-grade" sprain and said it's not a Lisfranc injury. He hopes to return after the well-timed Week 11 bye. Rhett Ellison should start in Engram's place. Ellison ranked 3rd in the team with 7 targets when Engram missed the Week 6 loss to New England. Ellison also totaled 20 targets across 4 games he played without Engram in the lineup last season -- including 6 targets apiece in weeks 12 and 13. He's in the fantasy-starter mix for Sunday's game against the Jets.

ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Giants TE Evan Engram's status "uncertain" with the foot injury he suffered in Monday night's loss to the Cowboys. The MRI results on the foot were sent to Dr. Robert Anderson for a 2nd opinion, Schefter reports. We'll keep a close eye on this, but Engram owners need to line up a backup plan for Week 10.

Giants TE Evan Engram came out of Monday night's loss to the Cowboys with a sore foot, HC Pat Shurmur said. Engram never exited that game and should be fine for this weekend's tilt with the Jets, but we'll keep an eye on him.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard has re-entered the concussion protocol and won't play against the Cowboys on Monday night. Get him out of Week 9 fantasy lineups and upgrade WRs Golden Tate and Darius Slayton.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) isn't listed on the final Week 9 injury report and will return for Monday night's game against the Cowboys. He's back on the WR3 map. This will be the 1st time this season that the Giants have Shepard, Golden Tate, Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram on the field together.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) put in a full practice on Thursday. He still needs final medical clearance, according to The Athletic's Dan Duggan, but Shepard is on track to return for Monday night's game against the Cowboys. He averaged 8.5 targets over the first 4 games of the season, although 3 of those came without WR Golden Tate. Consider both Shepard and Tate WR3s for Week 9.

The Jets on Monday traded DE Leonard Williams to the Giants for a 2020 third-round pick plus a 2021 fifth-rounder that becomes a 4th-rounder if the Giants extend Williams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Williams has traditionally been a better real-life player than fantasy producer. We'll see if moving to the Giants' defense can improve his sack numbers at all. The Giants' edge OLBs have delivered on the sack front so far this season, which could help. Back with the Jets, Folorunso Fatukasi and Kyle Phillips look like the prime candidates for playing-time boosts.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions. There's still no timetable for return from his 2nd concussion of the season, although he's been putting in limited practices the past 2 weeks. Golden Tate and Darius Slayton will continue to serve as New York's top 2 WRs on Sunday.

HC Pat Shurmur said Thursday that there's a "strong possibility" that WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) isn't cleared for this weekend's game against the Lions. He's been limited in practice the past 2 weeks, so he's made some progress through the protocol. According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, the Giants "hope" to get Shepard back for Week 9. Golden Tate, Darius Slayton and Cody Latimer will again operate the New York's top 3 WRs this Sunday.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) remained limited in Wednesday's practice as he waits for full medical clearance. We'll continue to track his progress, but consider him no better than 50/50 to play against the Lions this weekend.

Falcons RB Devonta Freeman was ejected in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game against the Rams after getting into a scuffle with DL Aaron Donald. Atlanta lost RB Ito Smith to a likely concussion earlier in this game, leaving them with RBs Brian Hill and Kenjon Barner.

Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) practiced in full all week and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll return for Sunday’s dream matchup against the Cardinals’ league-worst TE defense.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll get back to his workhorse role in Sunday’s plus matchup against the Cardinals.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan hears that Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) won't play against the Cardinals on Sunday and is "uncertain" for Week 8. It's not a surprise after Shepard suffered a pair of concussions in a 1-month span. Golden Tate, Darius Slayton and Cody Latimer will again operate as New York's top 3 WRs on Sunday.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) remained limited in Wednesday's practice. He still has multiple stages of the protocol to pass through after sustaining his 2nd concussion of the season back in Week 5. Don't bank on Shepard playing against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) put in a full practice on Wednesday. So it looks like he'll return just in time for this weekend's dream spot against the Cardinals' long-gone TE defense.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was a full-go in practice on Wednesday. That puts him on track to return for this weekend's game against the Cardinals -- and return to RB1 territory in our rankings.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) is out for Thursday night's game against the Patriots. He might be looking at an extended absence after sustaining 2 concussions in the span of a month. It'll be Golden Tate, Darius Slayton and Cody Latimer as New York's top 3 WRs tomorrow. QB Daniel Jones has no shot.
