Chase Edmonds Fantasy Football News 2019

Cardinals RB David Johnson carried on the 1st possession of today’s game against the Giants and didn’t hit the field again. HC Kliff Kingsbury said afterward that Johnson was only going to play in a “need-based” situation with his bum ankle. Thanks for the heads-up, coach. RB Chase Edmonds exploded for 150 total yards and 3 scores in Johnson's place. We’ll be keeping a close eye on D.J. this coming week.

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury labeled RB David Johnson (ankle) a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt with the Giants. Johnson got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday -- but Kingsbury admitted that he wouldn't have been able to play if the game was on Friday. We'll see how much progress D.J. makes over the next couple of days and should get an update on his status Sunday morning. Cardinals-Giants kicks off at 1 pm ET. If Johnson ends up sitting, Chase Edmonds will step in as Arizona's feature back and become a strong fantasy play.

Cardinals RB David Johnson didn't practice on Wednesday and is listed on the injury report with an ankle. It was a back issue that limited D.J. in practice last week. This could just be a rest day for Johnson, and we'll find out more tomorrow. But RB Chase Edmonds should be stashed in pretty much all fantasy leagues.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Cardinals RB David Johnson is expected to play against the Falcons today -- "barring a setback" -- despite the back injury that rendered him questionable. An active Johnson belongs in fantasy lineups against the defense that allowed 53 points to the Texans a week ago. Chase Edmonds can still be a deeper PPR option, but last week marked the 1st time this season he collected more than 6 touches.

Cardinals RB David Johnson (back) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Falcons. He put in a limited practice on Friday after sitting out the previous 2 days. Johnson told reporters that he felt good in Friday’s practice but will be a game-time decision. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, meanwhile, hears that D.J. is “likely” to play. Cardinals-Falcons doesn’t kick off until 4:05 pm ET, but we’ll look for an update on Johnson Sunday morning. Chase Edmonds will operate as Arizona’s feature back if Johnson doesn’t play.

Cardinals GM Steve Keim said in a Friday morning radio appearance that there's "a chance" RB David Johnson (back) plays against the Falcons this weekend. "I'm not 100 percent sure, but I'm certainly encouraged," Keim said. Johnson didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday and seems legitimately questionable for Sunday's game. We'll get another update on his status this afternoon.

Cardinals RB David Johnson (back) missed practice again on Thursday. As HC Kliff Kingsbury told us, Johnson is in real danger of missing this weekend's game against the Falcons. His absence would leave Chase Edmonds as a strong fantasy play as Arizona's lead back in a plus matchup.

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury refused to guarantee that RB David Johnson (back) will be available for this weekend's game against the Falcons. Johnson battled through back tightness in yesterday's win over the Bengals and will be monitored throughout this week, Kingsbury said. We'll obviously be keeping a close eye on this, but RB Chase Edmonds needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues in the meantime. He'd be a strong Week 6 fantasy play if Johnson is out.

Cardinals RB David Johnson injured his wrist in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game in Baltimore and is officially questionable to return. A wrist injury cost him almost all of 2017, although it's unclear if this is related. We'll update Johnson's status when we learn more. RB Chase Edmonds is Arizona's backup.

Update: Johnson returned in the 2nd quarter. Exhale.
