La'Mical Perine Fantasy Football News 2021

Jets RB La'Mical Perine has tested positive for COVID and will miss Sunday's finale vs. the Patriots. With RB Frank Gore (lung) also out, the Jets are down to RBs Ty Johnson and Josh Adams. Expect Johnson to lead a committee on the ground and handle most of the passing-down work, putting him in the RB3 mix.

Jets RB Frank Gore will miss the regular-season finale against the Patriots because of a lung contusion he suffered in Sunday's win over the Browns, according to Eric Allen of Jets 360. His absence leaves the backfield to rookie La'Mical Perine and Ty Johnson. Neither will be an exciting option, but it's an upside matchup against a New England D that has struggled vs. the run all year.

Jets RB Frank Gore left in the 4th quarter of Sunday's win over the Browns with a chest injury. We'll see about the severity this week. Rookie La'Mical Perine handled the team's final 4 RB carries after Gore left. Perine drew just 2 first-half carries in his return from a high-ankle sprain, vs. Ty Johnson's 2 and Gore's 6. Johnson and Perine would likely split work if Gore can't go in Week 17. Even if Gore returns, the Jets might elect to take a better look at the rookie in the regular-season finale.

The Jets have activated RB La’Mical Perine from IR. He has been out since sustaining a high-ankle sprain in Week 11. The team designated him to return on Dec. 16, though, so Perine has had 2 weeks of practice to work back in. The Jets increased Perine’s work just before the injury, so we wouldn’t be surprised if he goes back to leading the backfield in touches. At the least, his return further complicates an already shared backfield in a bad offense. Avoid all Jets RBs where pssible

Jets RB La'Mical Perine (ankle) has been activated from IR. We'll see if he's ready to play against the Rams this weekend. It's unclear what kind of role the rookie would be returning to, but you should continue to avoid this backfield.

Jets RB La'Mical Perine has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain. He figures to miss multiple weeks and can be dropped from redraft rosters. Frank Gore will remain New York's lead back, with Ty Johnson and likely practice-squad call-up Josh Adams backing him up.

Jets RB La'Mical Perine was knocked out of Sunday's game against the Chargers with an ankle injury. He remained in a committee with RB Frank Gore before going down. We'll look for an update on Perine's injury.

ESPN's Rich Cimini reports that Jets RB La'Mical Perine is expected to be the "feature back" the rest of the season as the team "tries to determine if he can be a future RB1." In 4 games since Le'Veon Bell's release, Frank Gore has out-carried Perine 44 to 32. It sounds like we should project the split to shift toward the rookie going forward. We'll see exactly how big a share he gets, but New York's offensive ineptitude leaves Perine as just a RB3 or flex for now.

Jets RB Frank Gore (hand) is active for today’s game against the Chiefs. He’s fallen behind rookie La’Mical Perine in the pecking order and isn’t a viable fantasy play.

Jets RB Frank Gore (hand) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Chiefs. He was limited on Wednesday, sidelined on Thursday and limited again Friday. Gore's absence on Sunday would make La'Mical Perine a bit easier to trust as a volume-based RB3 or flex play.

Jets HC Adam Gase confirmed that RB La'Mical Perine is in for a "bigger role" following RB Le'Veon Bell's release. "Frank [Gore], you're not going to lean on him with as heavy load because of where he is in his career," Gase added. "We have a really good idea how many touches is the right amount for him. Getting Perine really involved is going to be critical for us." The Jets' offensive ineptitude caps the upside on both RBs. Gore is still the better bet for immediate touches, but don't be surprised if Perine has taken over as the lead back by the end of the season.

Jets RB Lamical Perine (ankle) is active for today’s game against the 49ers. He joins Frank Gore and Josh Adams in the Jets’ Le’Veon Bell-less backfield. It’s a situation to avoid in fantasy lineups.

Jets RB Lamical Perine (ankle) is questionable for this weekend’s game against the 49ers after putting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. The rookie’s status has taken on more importance with RB Le’Veon Bell (hamstring) on IR. Perine is worth monitoring, but this is a backfield to avoid in Week 2.

Jets RB La’Mical Perine is getting an MRI after spraining an ankle in the team’s scrimmage Sunday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport. He team reportedly believes it’s minor, but we’ll see about the test results.
