The Raiders have agreed to a 2-year, $26 million deal with DE Yannick Ngakoue, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's a questionable signing for a defense that has Maxx Crosby and 2019 first-round pick Clelin Ferrell in place, plus Carl Nassib, who arrived on a sizable free-agent deal last offseason. The money certainly points to Ngakoue taking over a primary pass-rushing role. We'll see what that means for everyone else's playing time. Ngakoue endured a rough 2020 that saw him get traded twice (from Jacksonville to Minnesota to Baltimore). His 8 sacks matched the previous season, but Ngakoue managed a career-low 11 QB hits (including just 3 over 9 games with the Ravens). We won't be pumped about Ngakoue in IDP drafts for 2021.
The Raiders have activated LB Nicholas Morrow off the COVID list. He spent less than a week on there, so was clearly just a close contact rather than a positive test. Morrow should be ready to face Denver -- and get back into IDP lineups -- this Sunday.
The Raiders have placed LB Nicholas Morrow on the COVID list, where he joins Nick Kwiatkoski. That leaves Vegas with Cory Littleton, Raekwon McMillan and Kyle Wilber as the top 3 LBs. None is a strong IDP bet.
The Raiders on Wednesday placed LB Nick Kwiatkoski on the COVID list. It's not yet clear whether he tested positive or was merely a close contact, but that probably doesn't matter just 3 days away from Saturday night's clash with the Dolphins. No Kwiatkoski should mean more playing time for LB Cory Littleton. Nicholas Morrow also figures to get a boost in tackle upside, assuming he's ready to return from his concussion.
The Raiders have ruled out defensive starters S Johnathan Abram (concussion), LB Nicholas Morrow (concussion), DE Clelin Ferrell (shoulder) and CB Damon Arnette (concussion, neck) for Thursday night’s game against the Chargers. That obviously enhances an already favorable matchup for a struggling Chargers offense. We’ll see if Anthony Lynn & Co. allow Justin Herbert’s crew to take advantage
The Raiders could be without DE Clelin Ferrell, LB Nicholas Morrow and S Johnathan Abram when they play the Chargers on Thursday night. Morrow and Abram each left in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game with concussions. HC Jon Gruden said Monday they're in the concussion protocol. The short turnaround for Week 15 makes them unlikely to be ready. Ferrell left in the 1st quarter with a left-shoulder injury. Gruden also said it will be "tough" for Ferrell to make it back for Thursday night, according to SB Nation's Bill Williamson. We'll keep an eye on their statuses, but plan to have none of the 3 available for IDP use. Ferrell's absence would likely mean starter-level snaps for Arden Key, after DE Carl Nassib was a healthy scratch the past 2 weeks. Morrow's absence should mean a playing-time boost for disappointing LB Cory Littleton. Dallin Leavitt looks like the fill-in for Abram, with Jeff Heath's concussion having landed him on IR Saturday. The Raiders also might continue to miss starting CB Damon Arnette (concussion).
Raiders S Johnathan Abram (knee) is active for today's game against the Colts. He arrived questionable but is ready for IDP use.
The Raiders on Saturday placed S Jeff Heath on IR with his concussion. That knocks him out for at least Week 14 through Week 16, meaning you should drop Heath from all IDP rosters. Erik Harris looks like a good bet to start the rest of the way. He doesn't land high in our Week 14 IDP rankings but is an option.
The Raiders have ruled S Jeff Heath (concussion) out for Sunday's game against the Colts. S Johnathan Abram (knee) is questionable. He managed limited practices all week after missing last Sunday's game. We'll see about his status Sunday.
The Raiders have ruled S Johnathan Abram (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Jets. That likely puts Erik Harris into the starting lineup next to Jeff Heath.
The Raiders on Thursday placed LB Cory Littleton on the COVID list. It's not clear whether Littleton got there by testing positive or being in close contact with someone who did. The timing figures to challenge his ability to make it back for Sunday's game against the Broncos. You should have another plan for your IDP lineup, especially given Littleton's poor production this season.
