The Cowboys have released K Brett Maher. It's a move about 2 months overdue. Maher has missed 10 of his 30 FG attempts this season, including 6 from under 50 yards. Dallas will now turn to K Kai Forbath, who made his lone FG attempt but just 1 of 2 XPs in his Week 13 cameo with New England.
The Patriots have released K Kai Forbath. We'll see if they bring K Nick Folk back or sign someone else.
Patriots K Nick Folk is out for Sunday night's game against the Texans after undergoing an appendectomy. New England has signed Kai Forbath to kick vs. Houston. He's a decent option if you need to replace Folk in your fantasy lineup.
Update: Folk has been released
Jaguars K Josh Lambo (groin) is out for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. Kai Forbath kicks again for Jacksonville but is a weak fantasy play.
Jaguars K Josh Lambo (quad) is inactive for today’s game against the Redskins. Kai Forbath kicks in his place but is a weak fantasy play.
Jaguars K Josh Lambo (quad) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Redskins. Jacksonville signed K Kai Forbath as insurance. Avoid the situation in Week 15 fantasy lineups.
The Vikings released veteran K Kai Forbath. They’ll go with rookie Daniel Carlson, who drilled a 57-yarder in Week 1 of the preseason. He should emerge as an in-season streaming option.
The Vikings have signed K Kai Forbath to replace K Blair Walsh. Forbath has drilled 84.1% of his FGs across 4 NFL seasons. He's not much of a fantasy option, though, on Minnesota's 32nd-ranked offense.
The Saints on Tuesday released K Kai Forbath and signed undrafted free agent rookie Wil Lutz, according to multiple reports. Forbath had seemingly beat out Connor Barth, who has since replaced Robbie Gould with the Bears. Lutz connected on just 69.2% of his FG attempts over 3 years at Georgia State. He spent camp and the preseason with Baltimore, going 2-of-3 on FGs and making his only extra-point attempt. New Orleans presents a good situation for a fantasy kicker, but the team's insistence on cycling through marginal kickers in recent seasons has largely kept the position from delivering in fantasy.
The Saints have signed K Connor Barth. After hitting 23 of 28 attempts (82.1%) for the Bucs last year, he’ll compete with Kai Forbath for the job. The winner should supply some matchup fantasy value kicking for a solid Saints offense.
Redskins K Kai Forbath (groin) is active for today's game against the Jaguars. You're better off going with a healthier kicker for your Week 2 fantasy lineup.
Redskins K Kai Forbath (groin) is questionable for this weekend's game against the Jaguars. He'll reportedly test the bum groin on Saturday, and we should know if he'll play Sunday based whether Washington adds a K to its roster. Regardless, we'd avoid Forbath in Week 2 fantasy lineups.
Redskins K Kai Forbath is inactive for today's game against the Raiders. John Potter will kick again for Washington.
K Kai Forbath (groin) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the
Raiders. He kicked in practice Friday,
and the team will make a decision on his status tomorrow. K John Potter will kick again if Forbath can’t. Avoid the situation in fantasy.
Redskins K Kai Forbath (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Lions. John Potter will kick in his place again.
Redskins K Kai Forbath (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Packers. John Potter will kick in his place but isn't a recommended fantasy option.
Redskins K Kai Forbath was added to the injury report on Friday as questionable with a groin issue. Washington is expected to work out free-agent Ks, which is a good sign that Forbath won't play against the Packers on Sunday. Go with another K in your Week 2 fantasy lineup.
The Redskins have signed K Kai Forbath. He'll replace K Billy Cundiff, who is expected to be released today after missing 5 of 12 FGs this year. Forbath won the 2009 Lou Groza Award as the nation's top kicker at UCLA back in 2009. He went undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft, though, and has yet to attempt a kick at the pro level. We wouldn't bother with him in fantasy leagues.
