The forecast for today's Ravens-Bills game calls for 15-20 mph winds with gusts of 30+. QBs Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen both do a lot of their fantasy damage on the ground, so neither guy is significantly hurt by the weather. We would slightly downgrade WRs John Brown and Marquise Brown with deep passes likely to be impacted.
The forecast for today's Broncos-Bills game calls for sustained winds of 20 mph with gusts over 25. Hopefully you're not too invested in these passing games, but the windy conditions downgrade guys like QB Josh Allen and WRs John Brown and Courtland Sutton.
The forecast for today's Redskins-Bills game calls for winds between 15 and 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph. It won't be as windy as it was last week, but this is still enough to give slight bumps down to the passing and kicking games. Hopefully you were already avoiding Washington's passing game (including Terry McLaurin) in rookie QB Dwayne Haskins' 1st start. QB Josh Allen and WR John Brown remain fine plays on the Buffalo side. We'd try not to use either K in this game.
The forecast for today's Eagles-Bills game calls for a 30% chance of rain with winds of 27-32 mph. Gusts could reach 40 mph. That's more that enough to impact the passing and kicking games. We've just updated our projections for all the players in this game.
Bills QB Josh Allen (concussion) is active for today’s game against the Titans. He’s more of a QB2 vs. the #8 defense in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs.
Bills QB Josh Allen has cleared the concussion protocol and will start Sunday's game against the Titans. He's a shaky QB1 play vs. a Tennessee defense sitting 8th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs.
Bills QB Josh Allen (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Titans. He put in a full practice on Friday, but HC Sean McDermott said that Allen is still in the protocol. It looks like he has a shot to be cleared in time for Sunday’s game, though. We'll continue to update his status throughout the weekend.
Bills QB Josh Allen (concussion) remained limited in Thursday's practice. He still has multiple stages of the protocol to pass through and seems no better than 50/50 to be cleared in time for this weekend's game against the Titans. QB Matt Barkley will start if Allen can't.
Bills QB Josh Allen (concussion) will take part in some individual drills on Wednesday, HC Sean McDermott said. That means Allen has made some progress in the protocol and gives him a shot to be cleared by Sunday's game against the Titans. Check back tomorrow for another update.
Bills QB Josh Allen took a helmet-to-helmet hit in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game against the Patriots. He jogged off the field but will certainly be checked for a concussion. Stay tuned for an update.
Update: Allen has been diagnosed with a concussion.
The Bills will be signing WR John Brown for 3 years at $27 million, according to multiple reports. Brown will join Robert Foster and Zay Jones in the top 3. He and Foster look best suited on the outside, with Jones' skills seeming to fit nicely in the slot. Of course, all will deal with the limited accuracy of QB Josh Allen. The move doesn't bode well for Brown's fantasy football consistency. There is upside, however. Allen led all qualifying QBs last year with 19.7% of his pass attempts traveling 20+ yards downfield (according to Pro Football Focus) -- an area in which Brown excels. Allen also ranked just 20th out of 24, however, in deep-ball accuracy (36.5%).
The Bills have signed C Mitch Morse. He'll get over $11 million per year, according to NFL Network's Mike Garofolo, making Morse the league's highest-paid C. The former Chief missed 14 games over the last 2 seasons with a foot injury and concussion but ranked 13th among 38 Cs in Pro Football Focus' 2019 grades.
Bills QB Josh Allen has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Jets. The team announced that Matt Barkley will start in his place. Barkley gets the nod over Nate Peterman, who’s tossed 7 picks — vs. 1 TD — on just 49 attempts. Barkley was signed on October 31st and doesn’t project as much of an upgrade. The Jets D/ST remains an elite option.
Bills QB Josh Allen (elbow) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Jets after a limited week of practice. QB Derek Anderson has been ruled out with his concussion. HC Sean McDermott wouldn’t say on Friday whether Nathan Peterman or Matt Barkley will start this weekend if Allen can’t. Regardless, avoid the Bills passing game in fantasy lineups and start the Jets defense.
The Bills are expected to be forced to turn back to QB Nathan Peterman for Sunday's game against the Bears. QB Josh Allen has been ruled out with his elbow injury, while QB Derek Anderson is expected to miss Week 9 after sustaining a concussion in Monday night's loss to the Patriots. Peterman has thrown 4 INTs on just 32 attempts this season. He turns the Bears defense from a great fantasy play to an elite one.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Bills QB Josh Allen is expected to miss "at least 2 or 3 games" with the sprained UCL in his throwing elbow. Allen is dealing with a partial tear in the ligament and doesn't need surgery. This doesn't sound like a long-term concern, but the Bills figure to play it safe with their 1st-round rookie. We'll see whether they turn to Nathan Peterman or Derek Anderson against the Colts this weekend.
ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Bills QB Josh Allen has been diagnosed with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his right (throwing) elbow. The team is sending MRI results to Dr. James Andrews for a 2nd opinion. We don't have an official timeline for Allen's return, but former NFL head team Dr. David Chao considers the rookie "week-to-week" and believes "a good outcome for the Bills would be a return by Allen some time in November." Buffalo recently signed veteran QB Derek Anderson. We'll see if they roll with him or QB Nathan Peterman, but neither guy is a fantasy option.
Bills QB Josh Allen injured his right elbow or forearm in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game in Houston. We'll look for an update on his status. Nathan Peterman is in the game for Buffalo.
UPDATE: Allen is officially questionable to return with an elbow injury.
The Bills have named QB Josh Allen their starter for Week 2, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That's no shock after Nathan Peterman's indefensibly bad start against the Ravens in Week 1. If Buffalo's willing to insert its 1st-round pick into that environment, why not go ahead and kick off the Allen Era officially against the Chargers? This, of course, remains a hands-off fantasy situation. Allen, though, brings much more fantasy upside than Peterman with his combo of arm strength and rushing ability. The latter, in particular, makes the Bills rookie stash worthy in 2-QB leagues. Allen's skill set also looks like a better fit for WR Kelvin Benjamin, though we'd like to see Benjamin actually do something before using him in fantasy lineups. Benjamin managed 1 catch on 7 targets at Baltimore.
