49ers WR Dante Pettis is "having a rough camp," according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat's Grant Cohn. Pettis was replaced in the starting lineup in Tuesday's practice by WR Kendrick Bourne. We're guessing that's not a permanent move, but it also sounds like San Francisco's WR pecking order remains extremely fluid at this point. It'll be a situation to monitor closely in preseason action.
The 49ers have elected not to pick up the 2019 option on WR Pierre Garcon's contract. That's not a surprising move given Garcon's tumble over the past 2 seasons. He missed 8 games apiece in 2017 and 2018 and posted his 2 smallest catch totals (40 and 24) since his 2008 rookie campaign. The 32-year-old looks done as a fantasy factor -- and perhaps as an NFL player. His departure leaves opportunity for younger members of the Niners' WR corps: Dante Pettis, Richie James and Trent Taylor.
49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said WR Dante Pettis suffered an MCL injury in Sunday's loss to the Bears. He'll miss the finale but won't need surgery, so his offseason shouldn't be impacted. The rookie came on strong down the stretch, tallying 24 catches for 371 yards and 4 TDs in his final 6 games. We'll see what the 'Niners add to the WR room this offseason, but Pettis should be a big part of the passing attack going forward. He's a strong dynasty hold.
49ers WR Dante Pettis suffered a knee injury in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the Bears and is questionable to return. We'll pass along an update when we get one.
Update: Pettis has been ruled out. WR Marquise Goodwin has taken the rookie's spot in the starting lineup.
49ers WRs Dante Pettis (foot) and Marquise Goodwin (calf) are active for today’s game against the Seahawks. We’re not expecting either guy to be limited by his injury. Pettis is a WR3 with upside. Goodwin can’t be trusted in fantasy lineups after playing just 33% of the snaps last week.
49ers WRs WR Dante Pettis (foot) and Marquise Goodwin (calf) are expected to play against the Seahawks today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Both guys were limited in practice on Thursday and Friday, but we never heard any concern about their statuses. Pettis has scored 4 times in his last 3 games and is a WR3 with upside today. Goodwin isn't a recommended fantasy option after playing just 33% of the offensive snaps last week.
49ers WRs Dante Pettis (foot) and Marquise Goodwin (calf) are questionable for this weekend’s game against the Seahawks. Both guys were added to the injury report on Thursday and then limited again in Friday’s practice. We’ll hopefully get an update on them Sunday morning. We won’t get San Francisco’s official inactives until 2:35 pm ET.
49ers WRs Dante Pettis (foot) and Marquise Goodwin (calf) were added to the injury report on Thursday and limited in practice. The fact that both guys popped up here suggests this was more of a rest day. We'll know more about the situation after Friday's practice.
49ers WR Pierre Garcon (knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Broncos. Marquise Goodwin is set to return from his 2-game absence and will join Dante Pettis as a top-2 WR for the ‘Niners.
49ers WRs Marquise Goodwin (personal) and Pierre Garcon (knee) are out for this weekend’s game in Seattle.Dante Pettis, Kendrick Bourne and Richie James will serve as San Francisco’s top 3 WRs.Pettis is the only fantasy consideration — and he’s just a WR4 flier.
49ers WR Pierre Garcon (knee) will miss Monday's contest against the Giants. He missed each practice during the week. With Garcon sidelined, San Francisco will primarily utilize Marquise Goodwin, Richie James, Dante Pettis and Kendrick Bourne at WR.
49ers WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. That leaves Dante Pettis, Trent Taylor and Kendrick Bourne behind Marquise Goodwin on the WR depth chart. Pettis is the best fantasy bet but would be a flier in Week 8 lineups.
49ers WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. WR Dante Pettis, meanwhile, isn’t on the final injury report after missing the past 3 games with a knee injury. The rookie is worth monitoring but can’t be trusted in Week 8 fantasy lineups.
49ers WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Rams. He played through these injuries last Monday night and should be fine for this weekend. But he remains just a low-upside WR4. WR Dante Pettis (knee) has been ruled out.
49ers WR Dante Pettis (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals and is "week-to-week" beyond that, HC Kyle Shanahan said. We don't have any other details on Pettis' exact injury, but it sounds like he's dealing with some type of sprain. The rookie can be dropped in redraft leagues.
49ers WR Dante Pettis injured his left knee in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Chargers and is officially questionable to return. We'll pass along an update when we get one.
UPDATE: Pettis has been ruled out for the rest of the game.
49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (quad) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Lions. He didn't practice all week, so consider him uncertain for Week 3. HC Kyle Shanahan confirmed that WR Dante Pettis will start in Goodwin’s place this weekend. The 2nd-round rookie is a flier in DFS and deeper season-long leagues.
49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (quad) did not practice on Wednesday. He's reportedly just dealing with a bruise but wasn't able to play through it in the opener. We'll see if he can get on the practice field on Thursday. Rookie WR Dante Pettis played 73% of San Francisco's offensive snaps with Goodwin sidelined for most of last week's game.
49ers WR Marquise Goodwin injured his quad in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Vikings and is questionable to return. Rookie WR Dante Pettis has taken his place in the lineup.
UPDATE: Goodwin returned in the 3rd quarter.
49ers WR Trent Taylor underwent what HC Kyle Shanahan called a "minor" back surgery earlier this offseason. Taylor has been sidelined since but is expected to be ready "at or near the beginning of training camp," per Shanny. Taylor hauled in 43 of 60 targets (71.7%) for 430 yards and 2 TDs as a rookie last year. He faces stiff competition for playing time this season, though, with 2nd-round rookie Dante Pettis joining veterans Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin. We'll see how soon Taylor is able to get back on the field, but he's not worth a pick in fantasy drafts right now.
