Despite being active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Chiefs ILB Anthony Hitchens didn't play a snap. There didn't appear to be any report from the team beforehand that this would be the case. Hitchens has been dealing with a rib injury, but he played through a "questionable" tag in Week 9 and re-entered that game after appearing to aggravate it. He then put in limited practices this week. We'll see if better info precedes next Monday's clash with the Rams.

Chiefs ILB Anthony Hitchens (rib), OLB Justin Houston (hamstring) and S Daniel Sorensen (knee) are active for today’s game against the Cardinals. Hitchens is the only real IDP option here. There’s pass-rushing upside to Houston, but we can’t count on his normal snap allotment.

Chiefs ILB Anthony Hitchens (ribs) is active for today's game against the Browns. That makes him available for IDP usage, but he carries risk. Along with the durability question attached to his rib injury, Hitchens played just 65% and 75% of the defensive snaps the past 2 weeks (though the 2nd game found him leaving early with the injury).

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Chiefs ILB Anthony Hitchens came away from Sunday's win over the Broncos with "severely bruised ribs" that have rendered him week-to-week. "Too early to tell how much time he'll miss," Rapoport added. That makes it sound like Hitchens has a pretty good chance to miss at least 1 game. Add that he had just played a season-low 65% of the snaps the week before (coaches' choice), and IDP owners should just keep Hitchens out of the Week 9 plans. Reggie Ragland played a season-high 74% of the snaps Sunday and looks like the best bet for tackle production inside the K.C. defense. The Cleveland matchup carries plenty of fantasy upside for LBs.

The Chiefs have reached a 5-year deal with LB Anthony Hitchens worth about $9 million a year, according to multiple reports. Hitchens played well across 4 seasons with the Cowboys, playing all 16 games in each of the 1st 3. The deal with K.C. obviously indicates he'll line up as the team's new top ILB. Hitchens should be in for much bigger stats and more IDP value with the Chiefs than he's posted to this point. We'll see whether Dallas seeks a replacement or believes Jaylon Smith is ready to step in as a full-timer.
