Saints DE Cameron Jordan had February surgery to deal with herniated discs in his back, an issue he played through last season. ESPN's Mike Triplett reports that doctors have yet to clear Jordan to return to the field but that the player says he's "ahead of schedule." Jordan added, “I can’t give out a timetable for me being back 100 percent, but I do know that we’ll be well within camp, season." He posted a top-10 fantasy season in 2015 that included 10 sacks, with half of those coming over just 2 games. Sorting out the back issue can only help, as should the arrival of 1st-round DE Sheldon Rankins. We'll see when Jordan gets back to 100%.

Saints DE Cameron Jordan recently had arthroscopic surgery to "clean up something" in his lower back, according to Nick Underhill of the Advocate. Jordan intimated via Twitter that he faced 8 weeks of rehab, which shouldn't get in the way of his preparation for the 2016 season. We'll keep an eye on him to make sure that the back's OK come training camp. A healthy Jordan belongs among the top 20 D-linemen at fantasy football draft time and carries DL1 upside.

The Saints on Tuesday signed DE Cameron Jordan to a 5-year, $60 million extension, with $33.6 million guaranteed. Jordan saw his sack total drop from 12.5 in 2013 to 7.5 last season and garnered a much lower pass-rushing grade from Pro Football Focus. But it's clear that New Orleans believes in his all-around game. Heading into his age-26 season, Jordan should have a lot left to give IDP owners as well.

As expected, Saints DE Cameron Jordan (ankle) is active for the Week 9 matchup with the Jets.  He's a strong IDP option against a struggling offense.

Saints DE Cameron Jordan (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Jets. He put in limited practices Thursday and Friday after a full workout Wednesday. We still expect him to play after he turned up questionable in Week 8 as well -- and played.  We'll be watching the Sunday inactives.
