The Cowboys have ruled LB Leighton Vander Esch (neck) and S Jeff Heath (shoulder) out for Thursday night's game against the Bears. Vander Esch's absence makes LB Sean Lee an option for IDP lineups in Week 14.
Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He missed Wednesday's practice before limited workouts the next 2 days. DT David Irving, on the other hand, put in full practices Thursday and Friday after missing last week's game while dealing with a family issue and spending the 1st 4 weeks on a league suspension. He's expected to play 10-15 snaps against Jacksonville, according to Cowboys Wire. That's not enough to make Irving usable in IDP leagues, but it's his 1st real step toward getting back to IDP relevance.
The Cowboys will be without DT David Irving (concussion) and slot CB Orlando Scandrick (back) for today's game against the Giants. DT Maliek Collins (foot) is active after hitting the weekend questionable. He could see an increased role in Irving's absence but is a shaky IDP bet at best. Scandrick's absence only enhances the matchup for Giants WR Sterling Shepard.
The Cowboys defense will have some prominent players back in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Packers. CB Morris Claiborne will return from a groin injury that cost him the season's final 9 games. That figures to mean some rust but also returns arguably the secondary's best cover man. DE Demarcus Lawrence will also return after missing the final 3 games with a back injury. DT Tyrone Crawford returns as well, after missing the final 2 games with a left shoulder injury. And DT Terrell McClain sat out the final game with an ankle injury. All 4 players help a Dallas defense that's about to run into probably the league's hottest QB. However, we're not sure the returns significantly alter the fantasy outlooks for the team D or any particular Packers.
