The Eagles have designated TE Dallas Goedert to return from IR. That means Goedert will start practicing with the team this week. Philly will have 3 weeks to decide whether to activate him in full. We'll see if Goedert can make it back onto the active roster for this weekend, but it still seems more likely that he remains out until the other side of the Week 9 bye.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (ankle) will "potentially return" by Week 10, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports. It's the first real timetable we've gotten on Goedert since he was placed on IR with a small fracture in his ankle on September 29. Goedert remains worth stashing on fantasy rosters, but it sounds like you'll need to wait a few more weeks for him. With TE Zach Ertz (ankle) also expected to be out until at least Week 10, Richard Rodgers will operate as Philly's lead TE for at least next week's game vs. Dallas. (The Eagles have a Week 9 bye.) Rodgers hauled in 6 of 8 targets for a team-high 85 yards in Thursday night's win over the Giants.

The Eagles have placed TE Dallas Goedert (ankle) on IR. That means he's out for at least the next 3 games. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that Goedert's absence "could be longer," but that there's "hope" he'll return when first eligible. We'd still try to keep Goedert stashed on fantasy benches. Philadelphia signed former Cardinals WR Hakeem Butler to take Goedert's spot on the roster and announced him as a TE.

Eagles HC Doug Pederson announced on Tuesday that TE Dallas Goedert has a fractured left ankle. Pederson said that Goedert will be out for an "extended period," but the Philadelphia Enquirer's Jeff McLane hears that the "timeline shouldn’t be too lengthy." We'll look for a more concrete timetable for return, but Goedert owners should obviously be making other plans for the short term. We'd try to keep him stashed on your bench if you can afford the roster spot.

Update: NFL Network's Tom Pelissero adds that it's a small fracture to Goedert's ankle that won't require surgery. He's expected to be out "at least a couple weeks."

NBC Sports' John Clark hears that Eagles TE Dallas Goedert is expected to miss "some time" with the ankle injury he suffered in Week 3. That's obviously a vague report, but it's all we have for now. We'll look for more details, but fantasy owners should plan on being without Goedert for at least Week 4. His absence should mean a nice target boost for TE Zach Ertz.
