Panthers S Eric Reid got ejected in the 3rd quarter of Thursday night's game against the Steelers after a shot to the head of QB Ben Roethlisberger. Reid launched and made contact with Roethlisberger's helmet as the QB slid at the end of a scramble. We'll see if there's any further discipline for Reid, but we wouldn't bet on it.
The Panthers on Thursday signed former 49ers S Eric Reid. The move makes obvious sense for a team that moved on from Kurt Coleman in the offseason and then lost replacement Da'Norris Searcy to injury. We'd bet on Reid making his way to the starting lineup soon after Carolina's Week 4 bye and entering the weekly IDP radar. We'll see how quickly the Panthers want that to happen.
The 49ers started S Eric Reid at weak-side LB in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, and he basically split snaps with Ray-Ray Armstrong there, according to the Sacramento Bee. Reid said afterward that coaches told him the move to LB and keeping Jaquiski Tartt in Reid's vacated safety spot was the "best move for the team." The change leaves IDP owners without Reid or Armstrong as reliable options. We'll see whether MLB Reuben Foster's Sunday rib injury further impacts the situation.
Niners S Eric Reid is active for today's game at Washington, his 1st action since he sprained a knee ligament in Week 2. Bet on him starting, though we could see Jaquiski Tartt continue to work in a rotation at safety with Reid and Jimmie Ward. Reid is the top IDP option among them for this week. We'll see how the playing time goes from here.
Niners HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday that S Eric Reid will miss at least 1 game with his sprained left knee, CSN Bay Area reports. Shanahan also said he's not sure whether S Jaquiski Tartt will be ready for Thursday's game against the Rams after suffering a neck injury in Sunday's loss at Seattle. “I know he was hurting today," Shanahan said. "We’ll see how he is when he comes in tomorrow."
