Dolphins HC Brian Flores plans on giving RB Kenyan Drake a bunch of Week 1 touches. “I think he’s both physically and mentally ready,” Flores said Wednesday. “This is a guy who has as much talent as we have on our team. He’s fast. He’s physical. He’s explosive. He makes a lot of plays, and we’re looking forward to getting him a lot of touches this week.” It wasn't a great August for Drake, who was working behind Kalen Ballage early in training camp and then missed about 3 weeks with a foot injury. But he says he's back to 100% and is listed as the starter on Miami's latest depth chart. Supporting cast remains a major concern for Drake. But he's a talented player. And if he can get 15+ touches per game, he'll be a weekly fantasy starter. Consider him a RB3 or flex in a tough Week 1 matchup vs. the Ravens.

Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake (foot) was on the field for Monday's practice, according to insider Joe Schad. It's unclear how much Drake will do, but it's another step in the right direction after we heard that he was out of his walking boot and jogging before Thursday's preseason game. Drake now seems to have a good shot to be ready for Week 1. RB Kalen Ballage did nothing to take advantage of Drake's absence in that 3rd exhibition, mustering just 17 yards on 12 carries. We're expecting this to be a committee backfield out of the gate, but we'd much rather draft the superior talent. That's Drake.

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports that Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake is out of his walking boot and was jogging before Thursday's preseason game. So he's making tangible progress from the foot injury he suffered 8 days ago. But Drake should still be considered questionable to be ready for Week 1. We'll continue to keep an eye on him.

Dolphins HC Brian Flores said after Wednesday's practice that RB Kenyan Drake is sidelined with a foot injury. Flores added that Drake will be out "a while" but that the team is "hopeful" to get him back before Week 1. That sounds like Drake is questionable for the start of the season. We'll continue to monitor his status but just nudged him down the RB rankings. Kalen Ballage has a golden opportunity to open the year as Miami's lead back.

Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's practice. He won't practice on Wednesday and was spotted in a walking boot. These walking boots are often precautionary -- but they can also mean a significant injury. We'll look for updates on Drake's status. His absence leaves Kalen Ballage as Miami's clear lead back.

Injury Predictor

Drake endured an injury-riddled college career, including 9 games lost to a broken and dislocated ankle in 2014, 2 more lost to a right arm fracture in 2015 and a concussion (which didn't claim any games). His NFL stint has been comparatively quiet, though Drake did lose 3 weeks of 2016 training camp to a hamstring strain and a week of 2017 camp to a concussion. He has also tallied just 166 total rushing attempts through 2 seasons. Drake figures to see much more work in his 3rd season after emerging as Miami's lead back following the Jay Ajayi trade. Can he hold up?
