Packers K Mason Crosby (calf, back) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Vikings. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. We’ll see if Green Bay adds a kicker, but avoid the situation in Week 8 fantasy lineups.
Packers K Mason Crosby missed Wednesday's practice with left calf and back injuries. If you're a Crosby owner, you might want to line up an alternative for Week 8. We'll continue to monitor his status.
Packers ST coach Shawn Mennenga said Mason Crosby will battle Sam Ficken for the kicking job, adding “we’ll see who the best man will be.” A calf injury has kept Crosby -- Green Bay's kicker since 2007 -- out of training camp. Ficken, though, is just 3 for 6 on FG attempts through 2 seasons. A healthy Crosby should earn a roster spot, but his current status makes him someone to avoid in early drafts.
Packers HC Mike McCarthy suggested Monday that he'll stick with K Mason Crosby, despite his 4 missed FGs and missed XP in yesterday's 8-point loss to the Lions. "He's a proven highly successful kicker, and I believe in him but he's got to make those kicks," McCarthy said. Crosby has been a reliable K for most of his 12-year career, but fantasy owners should seek out another option for now.
