Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman has been activated from the COVID list and will play against the Raiders on Sunday night. WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring, calf) has been ruled out for that one. Hardman and DeMarcus Robinson will continue to operate as the #2 and #3 WRs for Kansas City.

Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman has been placed on the COVID list. It's fortunate timing with the team on bye. We'll see if Hardman is cleared in time for Week 11.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid "gave the impression" that WRs Mecole Hardman and De'Anthony Thomas will split Tyreek Hill's work against the Raiders on Sunday, The Athletic's Nate Taylor writes. "(Thomas) has done it before, and Mecole has kind of been in that position," Reid said. “We feel good working both of them." Anthony missed the opener on a 1-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He's been more of a gadget player in the past, tallying 64 catches and 29 carries over his first 5 NFL seasons. We could see Thomas get the jet-sweep and other quick-hitting type plays Hill usually gets, while Hardman runs more of the typical WR plays. We still prefer Hardman as the Week 2 fantasy play, but consider him just a WR4 or flex flier.

The Chiefs selected Georgia WR Mecole Hardman with the 56th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. The high school QB moved to WR for the Bulldogs, totaling 60 catches for 961 yards (16.0 YPC) and 11 TDs over the past 2 seasons. He added 13 carries for 97 yards and 2 scores, averaged 15.2 yards per punt return and 25.0 yards per kick return. Hardman goes just 5’10 and 183 pounds but blazed a 4.33-second 40-yard dash. He'll undoubtedly draw Tyreek Hill comparisons now that he’s in Kansas City. This pick feels like a reach to us, but it’s definitely a strong landing spot for Hardman’s fantasy value. He’ll be a riser in the post-draft dynasty rankings.
