The 49ers announced Wednesday that they have re-signed ILB Michael Wilhoite on a 1-year deal. Wilhoite started all 12 games he was active for in 2015 before a December ankle sprain ended his season. The Niners didn't select any potential replacements in the NFL draft, however, after plugging in Gerald Hodges for the season's final 4 games. Wilhoite looks like the best bet to start inside next to NaVorro Bowman and delivered solid IDP production when starting last year. He'll be worth considering in the LB4 range in deep-ish fantasy football leagues.
49ers LB Michael Wilhoite (ankle) will miss his 2nd straight game Sunday against the Lions. Gerald Hodges has started for him the past 2 weeks and delivered 10 tackles (9 solo) against the Bengals in Week 15. But Detroit doesn't present a very good LB tackle matchup this time around.
The 49ers have ruled out ILB Michael Wilhoite (ankle) for Sunday's game against the Browns. He won't even make the trip with the team. Wilhoite had previously tailed off after strong early IDP production, so he's fine to drop for a replacement if you haven't already.
Niners ILB Michael Wilhoite aggravated an existing ankle injury in the 1st quarter of Sunday's win at Chicago and did not return, according to CSN Bay Area. We'll keep an eye on his status this week, but Wilhoite has slowed way down after a strong start to his IDP season. His availability shouldn't affect too many fantasy football lineups in Week 14.
Niners LB Michael Wilhoite will return to the field this week, according to ESPN.com. HC Jim Tomsula said his staff will work Wilhoite in slowly during joint practices with the Broncos. Wilhoite had missed training camp to this point with a leg strain. He still should be in line to start next to NaVorro Bowman in the base defense, however, as long as he proves physically ready.
