The Titans on Monday released starting CB Perrish Cox. The move comes less than a week after HC Mike Mularkey gave the dreaded vote of confidence amid questions over whether Cox's poor play might get him demoted. Tennessee promoted rookie CB Kalan Reed from the practice squad, but Antwon Blake and LeShaun Sims look like the top candidates to join Jason McCourty and Brice McCain among the top 3 at the position. The Titans rotated Sims in with Cox on Sunday. McCourty was limited to just 42% of the snaps at Chicago while dealing with a knee injury. According to ESPN's Paul Kuharsky, McCourty said after the game he thinks it's "just a little bone bruise."
Titans CB Perrish Cox (concussion) will miss tonight's game against the Jaguars. That certainly helps the matchup for Jacksonville, but QB Blake Bortles' poor play has defied specific matchups to this point. He's high risk in any situation. We'll see if WR Allen Robinson can capitalize on opportunity.
The Tennessean reports that CB Perrish Cox suffered a hip injury in practice this week. He's officially questionable for Sunday's game against the Bucs. HC Ken Whisenhunt said he expects Cox to play, but we'll have to check the starter's status Sunday morning.
