An MRI on Patriots RB Sony Michel's injured knee revealed no structural damage, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The rookie is considered "week-to-week." It's about the best possible news Michel owners could have hoped for. We'll keep you updated on his rehab. It's worth noting that New England has a Week 11 bye, so a Week 12 return might be most likely. We'd try to hang on to Michel as a potential RB1 down the stretch.

A Patriots source told ESPN's Adam Schefter this regarding RB Sony Michel's knee injury: “Expect it will be a little bit but not overly serious. Won’t know til they look at it Monday.” It sounds like Michel avoided a season-ending injury but figures to miss some time. We should learn more later today. James White and Kenjon Barner are left as the Patriots' healthy RBs right now. They figure to add someone this week. Free agent and former Patriot Mike Gillislee's name has been tossed around.

Patriots RB Sony Michel was carted to the locker room with a left leg injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Bears. His leg got twisted awkwardly in a pile. We'll update his status when we learn more. Michel's absence leaves New England with RBs James White and Kenjon Barner.

UPDATE: The Pats announced Michel with a knee injury and deemed him questionable to return.

Patriots RB Sony Michel (knee) is active for tonight’s game against the Chiefs. We never heard any concern over the knee, so Michel seems safe to use as you normally would in fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport called Patriots RB Sony Michel (knee) a game-time decision for tonight's tilt with the Chiefs. Rapoport went on to say that Michel is expected to play. The rookie was limited in practice all week, but this is the 1st time we've heard that his status is at all in doubt. We'd still lean toward keeping Michel in fantasy lineups unless you're stacked at RB.

Injury Predictor

Michel carries notable injury risk into his debut NFL campaign. The medical record starts with a high-school ACL tear. A broken shoulder blade cost him 4 games in 2014 at Georgia, with an ankle sprain claiming another. Then came a forearm fracture in the summer, and an ankle sprain and knee strain in 2017. So Michel sits high among RBs in the 2018 injury-risk rankings. But he also carries big fantasy upside in a Patriots offense that helped Dion Lewis rank 15th among PPR RBs in 2017 and found 18 rushing TDs for LeGarrette Blount the year before.
