The Titans have named Mike Vrabel their new HC. The former LB is just 8 years removed from the end of his playing career. He's spent the past 7 in the coaching ranks, most recently serving as the Texans' DC this past season. We'll see who Vrabel hires to run his offense.

The Titans on Wednesday announced longtime coach Dick LeBeau as their new DC. He spent 2015 as Tennessee's assistant HC for defense -- how that balanced with DC Ray Horton's role, we don't really know -- after 11 seasons as Pittsburgh's coordinator. LeBeau's final 2 Steelers defenses slipped to middling, which led to the team setting him free. But he coached 3 straight units to top-6 finishes in both scoring and yardage before those 2 campaigns. We'll see what he can do with a Tennessee D that has some talent but also still appears to be a few pieces away from turning into a strong group. The Titans have sported some spot-start value as a team D over the past couple of years, though, and will be worth watching this offseason.

The Titans have chosen to remove Mike Mularkey's interim tag and make him the new HC. Tennessee went just 2-7 after Mularkey stepped in for deposed HC Ken Whisenhunt, albeit while dealing with QB Marcus Mariota's 2nd knee injury. The Tennessean reports that the team is expected to replace OC Jason Michael and that DC Ray Horton is expected to leave for the asme position with the Browns. Mularkey has fared well as an NFL OC but carries just an 18-39 record through 4.5 seasons as a head man. He doesn't seem like an inspired choice here, though we'll see what assistants he brings in. For fantasy purposes, though, the continuity should help Mariota, who has already flashed exciting fantasy upside.

Titans CB Perrish Cox (hamstring) is inactive for today's game against the Panthers. He joins CB Jason McCourty (groin) on the inactive list. That leaves Blidi Wreh-Wilson and Coty Sensabaugh starting for Tennessee. Neither makes for a particularly attractive IDP option.

The Titans have fired HC Ken Whisenhunt.  He went 3-20 over the last season-and-a-half, getting out-scored to 597 to 379.  Former TEs coach Mike Mularkey will take over as Tennessee's interim HC.  He was Jacksonville's HC back in 2012, leading the Jags to a 2-14 record.  Mularkey was also HC for the Bills in 2004 and 2005, compiling a 14-18 record.  We doubt the coaching change makes much of a fantasy impact the rest of the way.
