The Chargers have signed WR James Jones, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's a sign that WR Stevie Johnson will miss significant time with the torn meniscus he suffered on Sunday. Jones is 32 but still had gas left in the tank last year, posting a 50-890-8 line in Green Bay. He caught 73 balls the previous season for the Raiders, although they went for just 666 yards (9.1 YPC). Jones is probably the favorite for the Chargers' #3 gig as long as Johnson is sidelined. He'll need to hold off Dontrelle Inman, Tyrell Williams and Javontee Herndon.
