Panthers HC Ron Rivera confirmed after Sunday's loss to the Redskins that TE Greg Olsen is in the concussion protocol. It's his 3rd documented concussion. We'll track Olsen's progress this coming week, but consider him no better than 50/50 for Week 14. Olsen's absence would leave lead TE duties to Ian Thomas, who averaged 3.9 catches and 35.5 yards in the 9 games Olsen missed all of most of last season.

Panthers TE Greg Olsen (back) is active for today’s game against the Cardinals. He practiced all week, including full workouts on Thursday and Friday. Olsen is safe to keep in fantasy lineups vs. an Arizona defense that allowed a 6-131-1 line to T.J. Hockenson in Week 1 and an 8-112-1 to Mark Andrews last week.

Injury Predictor

Olsen had played a full 16 games for 9 straight seasons, but a broken foot shattered that in 2017. The Week 2 injury kept him out until Week 12, and then soreness in the foot cost Olsen Week 13 and much of the following game. He returned to close out the year, though, including an 8-107-1 receiving line at New Orleans in Carolina's playoff loss. Olsen's healthy heading into 2018, though, and even got an offseason extension at age 33.
