Niners RB Raheem Mostert sustained a high-ankle sprain in Sunday night's win over the Rams and is headed to IR, according to Grant Cohn of SI.com. That means he'll miss at least 3 games. We'll see beyond that. Jerick McKinnon is the guy we know will be involved in replacing Mostert for Sunday's game at New England. He garnered just 8 touches for 28 total yards against the Rams, though. Jeff Wilson missed Week 6 with a calf injury he suffered during the practice week. That left rookie JaMycal Hasty working in his place against the Rams. Tevin Coleman is eligible to come off IR for Week 7, but we don't yet know whether his sprained knee will be ready. We'll see how this backfield picture develops through the week.
Update: HC Kyle Shanahan says Mostert will "most likely" be placed on IR. So it's apparently not definite just yet.
Niners RB Raheem Mostert left Sunday night's game against the Rams with a left ankle injury. The team ruled him out for the rest of the game, which isn't great news for his Week 7 outlook. We'll watch for further updates on his status. If Mostert misses further time, Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson would step back to prominence. Tevin Coleman should also be nearing a return from the knee sprain that has kept him from playing since Week 2.
49ers RB Raheem Mostert (knee) is active for today’s game against the Dolphins. He missed the last 2 games and was limited in practice this week, so it’s unclear how big a role he’s ready for. It leaves Mostert as a risk/reward Week 5 fantasy play.
49ers RB Raheem Mostert (knee) and WR Deebo Samuel (illness) are expected to play against the Dolphins today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Mostert has been sidelined since Week 2 and was limited in practice all week, so it's unclear how big a role he's ready for. Samuel played just 34% of San Francisco's offensive snaps in his 2020 debut last week. He should be ready for more this afternoon -- although missing practice on Thursday and Friday with that illness might impact that plan.
49ers RB Raheem Mostert (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. HC Kyle Shanahan suggested Friday that Mostert will be a game-time decision. That means we might not know his status until 3 pm ET on Sunday. Jerick McKinnon will be a high-end RB2 if Mostert remains out; a RB3/Flex play if Mostert suits up.
