Cowboys QBs coach Kellen Moore has been promoted to OC and will call plays in 2019, HC Jason Garrett said over the weekend. “I said to everybody, ‘I want those new ideas. I want them thought through far. And if they are not being implemented call me.’ But let’s get in there and do the kinds of things to get the most out of a very talented roster," owner Jerry Jones said. "Kellen has the skill and the right attitude and style to make this work.” This is a huge step for a guy who was a player just 2 years ago. Moore's play-calling ability will be a legitimate question mark heading into 2019.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is off to an uneven start to training camp. “Well, we’re a work in progress,” OC Scott Linehan said. “We’re not where we want to be, but there’s bright spots, things we build on." It's early, and this shouldn't come as a major surprise considering the wholesale changes to Dallas' pass-catching corps. But in a time of the year when everyone is "in the best shape of their lives" and "ready for a breakout season," it's notable to hear a negative report on an offense. We'll be keeping a close eye on the Cowboys this preseason, but this isn't a passing game we're looking to invest in heavily.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hand) put in a full week of practice and isn't listed on the final injury report. He'll start Sunday's game against the Giants -- and we're not expecting the hand to be an issue. Still, Prescott is a shaky QB1 after failing to reach 180 passing yards in 5 of his last 6 games.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hand) is "good to go" for Sunday's game against the Giants, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Prescott escaped with just a bruised hand and didn't seem impacted by it last Thursday night. He's a borderline QB1 for Week 14.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott downplayed the throwing-hand injury he suffered in Thursday night’s win over the Redskins. “It’s good,” Prescott said afterward. “I’m fine.” Prescott got a quick X-ray in the locker room during the game that came back clean, but his hand was noticeably swollen. It’ll be a situation to monitor when Dallas returns to practice next week.

Injury Predictor

It’s been smooth sailing for Prescott thus far, as he played all 16 games last year in relief of Tony Romo. Dak can dazzle with his scrambling ability, but he'll need to be cautious to avoid injuries going forward.
