Nick Boyle's Preseason Player AnalysisNick Boyle to 'short-term' IR
The team website reports that Ravens TE Nick Boyle will open the regular season on "short-term" IR. Boyle spent most of camp and preseason on the PUP list, as he worked back from offseason knee surgery. That the Ravens activated him from that points to Boyle likely returning before Week 6. Had he opened the regular season on the PUP, the veteran TE would have missed at least 6 games.
Hayden Hurst having foot surgery
Ravens TE Hayden Hurst is undergoing foot surgery on Friday to repair a stress fracture in his foot. He'll have a screw inserted to stabilize the area. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that Hurst is expected to miss 3-4 weeks -- but that sounds very optimistic to us. Foot injuries tend to be extremely tricky, and we often see setbacks and/or compensatory issues pop up.
