Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ribs) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. It’s worth noting that, per The Athletic’s Daniel Popper, QB Chase Daniel was announced as the starter on the jumbotron about 30 minutes ago. Los Angeles also has all 3 QBs active today, rather than the usual 2. We’ll see if he can figure out who’s starting this game before kickoff.
Herbert still a game-time decision
ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ribs) is a game-time decision for today's meeting with the Jaguars. Per Schefter, Herbert will decide during pre-game warmups whether to take a pain-killing injection in his fractured rib cartilage. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport adds that Herbert "was looking doubtful as of Friday ... but he's pushing hard to go now." And NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that Herbert "threw some yesterday and felt better but not all the way there." This is a 4:05 pm ET kickoff, so we might not know Herbert's status until a little after 2:30. If you're hoping to use him, you need to have another late-game QB rostered. QB Chase Daniel will get the start for the Chargers if Herbert can't play.
Herbert questionable for Week 3
Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ribs) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Jaguars. He did not practice on Friday after being limited the previous 2 days. Herbert said Friday afternoon that he’ll workout prior to the game on Sunday before making a decision on his status. That could put fantasy owners in a tough spot with the 4:05 pm ET kickoff. We’ll continue to look for updates on the situation. QB Chase Daniel will start for the Chargers if Herbert doesn’t.
Stafford's ankle injury not 'too serious'
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Lions QB Matthew Stafford's ankle injury "doesn't appear too serious." The issue was enough to keep Stafford out for the rest of Saturday's loss to the Buccaneers, but it seems like he'll be available for the finale against the Vikings. Even in a meaningless contest, we'd bet on Stafford playing if he's able. We'll see how the practice week goes for him.
Stafford out with ankle injury
Lions QB Matt Stafford was knocked out of Saturday's game vs. the Bucs with an ankle injury. Now dealing with right thumb, rib and ankle injuries, Stafford should call it a season. QB Chase Daniel figures to start next weekend's finale vs. the Vikings.
