49ers GM John Lynch called RB Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) "very questionable" for Sunday night's game against the Packers. We'll see if Mitchell does anything in practice later today -- and then how he's listed on the final injury report. RB Trey Sermon's Week 3 status is also up in the air with his concussion. Trenton Cannon and Jacques Patrick are the only healthy RBs on San Francisco's active roster. RB Kerryon Johnson is a potential practice-squad callup.

The 49ers signed RB Jacques Patrick off the Bengals' practice squad, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. It's the team's latest move at RB after Elijah Mitchell (shoulder), JaMycal Hasty (ankle) and Trey Sermon (concussion) all went down in Week 2. Patrick went undrafted out of Florida State back in 2019 and has yet to record a regular-season NFL touch. He played in the XFL in 2020, carrying 60 times for 254 yards and 2 TDs. Patrick was with the Bengals this preseason and averaged 5.0 yards per carry on 31 totes. He ranked 6th in Pro Football Focus' rushing grades among 93 qualifiers. Patrick is only worth adding in deep fantasy leagues right now -- but we'll continue to keep a close eye on this backfield.
