Prater inactive
Cardinals K Matt Prater (illness, hip) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Rams. Tristan Vizcaino will kick for Arizona but isn’t a great fantasy option.
Vizcaino expected to kick vs. Rams
The Cardinals on Saturday signed K Tristan Vizcaino, and he’s now expected to kick Sunday against the Rams in place of Matt Prater. The incumbent is officially questionable, listed with a hip injury and illness
Hopkins to COVID list
Chargers K Dustin Hopkins has been placed on the COVID list. He joins K Tristan Vizcaino there, so we'll see what the Chargers do at kicker this week.
Chargers release Vizcaino, sign Hopkins
The Chargers released K Tristan Vizcaino and signed K Dustin Hopkins. It's surprising Vizcaino lasted this long considering he missed 5 XPs and 1 FG through 6 games. Hopkins was dumped by Washington last week after missing 2 XPs and 2 FGs in 6 games. But he sports a career 84.0% FG conversion rate and should bring more stability to the position for Los Angeles. Hopkins should also be a decent fantasy option in this high-scoring offense.
Badgley released
The Chargers released K Michael Badgley. That leaves K Tristan Vizcaino atop the depth chart for now. We'll see if L.A. adds any competition. Vizcaino has just 3 career NFL FG attempts.
