The Browns have activated S Ronnie Harrison from IR. He missed the past 4 games with a shoulder injury. That follows closely behind the team placing safeties Karl Joseph and Andrew Sendejo on the COVID list. So expect Harrison to jump back into the starting lineup for this game. In his previous 3 games of full duty, Harrison posted 8, 10 and 6 tackles and broke up a pass in each. He also hit up the Colts for a pick-6 plus a 2nd pass defensed in the game before that span. He'll carry upside against the Mason Rudolph Steelers this week -- especially with LB B.J. Goodson also sidelined with COVID, raising the tackle upside.
Browns rookie S Grant Delpit suffered a torn Achilles' tendon Monday and will miss the season, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. That had been the fear, and MRI confirmed the injury. Sheldrick Redwine looks like the next guy up, but we'll keep an eye on the replacement plan. S Karl Joseph, meanwhile, gets a boost in tackle upside.
Update: Scott Petrak of the Chronicle-Telegram reports that Andrew Sendejo is getting the 1st shot at replacing Delpit. We'll see whether the Browns sign another competitor.
Vikings S Andrew Sendejo (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions. He practiced all week, putting in a full workout Friday after missing the past 3 games and not practicing at all over that span. Sendejo looks on track to play, but it's not a great matchup. Consider him an option but not a special target. CB Xavier Rhodes is also questionable for the game with a foot injury that limited him in practice all week and cost him the Week 8 clash with New Orleans. We'll check Rhodes' status Sunday. He's not an IDP option even if active, but his absence would help Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay.
Vikings S Andrew Sendejo will miss his 2nd straight game Sunday with a groin injury. DT Linval Joseph is questionable for the visit to the Jets. He's listed with ankle, knee and shoulder injuries and put in just a single limited practice on Friday. We'd try not to use Joseph in IDP lineups this week even if he's active.
Vikings S Andrew Sendejo is active for today's game against the Lions. He sat out Sunday's contest while dealing with hamstring and groin injuries but was listed as a full practice participant Wednesday. He's OK to use in IDP lineups.
The NFL on Monday suspended Vikings S Andrew Sendejo for the Week 8 game against Cleveland in London. Sendejo was flagged for an unnecessary roughness penalty for the 1st-quarter hit Sunday that knocked Ravens WR Mike Wallace out with a concussion. Sendejo has 3 days to appeal the suspension. If the ban holds up, expect Anthony Harris to start in Sendejo's place. He played every defensive snap when Sendejo missed Week 6 with a groin injury.
Vikings S Andrew Sendejo is inactive for today's game against the Packers because of a groin injury. Jayron Kearse and Anthony Harris sit behind the starters on the Minnesota depth chart. Kearse is the SS replacement among them, but it's not clear whether he'll take all of Sendejo's snaps.
Vikings S Andrew Sendejo is questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers. He missed Wednesday and Thursday workouts with a groin injury and returned to only a limited workout Friday. Sendejo has also been dealing with a shoulder issue. The matchup isn't terrific, but Sendejo did rack up 11+ tackles in 2 of his past 4 meetings with the Packers. We'll see about his status Sunday.
Vikings S Andrew Sendejo (ankle) is active for today's game against the Lions. He missed last week after suffering his injury in the 1st half of the prior week's loss at Philly. There's likely some re-injury risk here, but Sendejo managed limited practice participation all week. There's also tackle upside against a pass-favoring Lions offense -- especially in a bad matchup for an already shaky Detroit run game. We've added him to the Week 9 DB rankings.
Vikings S Andrew Sendejo will miss Monday night's game against the Bears with the ankle injury that knocked him out of the Week 7 loss at Philly. Rookie Jayron Kearse is expected to make his 1st pro start in Sendejo's place. He made 2 tackles in relief of Sendejo last week and shouldn't be in your IDP plans for Week 8.
Vikings S Andrew Sendejo left Sunday's game at Philadelphia with an ankle injury. He walked off the field before heading to the locker room on a cart. We'll see about his status during the week, but Sendejo's a replaceable asset both for IDP owners and the Minnesota D.
The Vikings on Saturday placed S Michael Griffin on IR with a back injury. That clears the way for S Andrew Sendejo to continue starting next to S Harrison Smith. ESPN reports that Griffin plans to get a 2nd opinion on his back. There's a chance he could gain release from the Vikings and be free to sign elsewhere, but odds stand against him proving fantasy-relevant for IDP owners in 2016.
The Vikings on Sunday reached a new 4-year deal with impending free agent S Andrew Sendejo. The reported $16 million package doesn't constitute big money, but it suggests that the team sees him starting next to S Harrison Smith for the near future. Sendejo has been a solid tackle source when healthy but lost 3 games to injury last year and only started 13 total contests over the previous 2 seasons. Sendejo's a waiver option in most IDP leagues as opposed to a draft-worthy commodity.
The Vikings started their practice week Monday without S Harrison Smith (hamstring), DT Linval Joseph (foot) and OLB Anthony Barr (groin), according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Starting S Andrew Sendejo (knee) also did "very little" during the open portion, while backup safeties Antone Exum (undisclosed) and Robert Blanton (knee) missed the workout as well. Joseph and Sendejo missed Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, which Barr and Smith left early with their injuries. None looks like a trustworthy IDP bet for Thursday night's trip to Arizona, and the spate of injuries only makes the Vikings look less attractive as a team defense in a matchup that's already 1 to avoid.
Vikings S Harrison Smith is questionable for Sunday's game with the knee injury that cost him last week's game. He put in limited practices all week and seems on track to play. OLB Anthony Barr (hand, groin) is also questionable. He put in 2 limited practices this week but missed Thursday's workout. We'd bet on him playing but will check on his status Sunday. Minnesota has ruled out DT Linval Joseph and S Andrew Sendejo.
Vikings DT Linval Joseph missed Wednesday's practice with a foot injury, while S Andrew Sendejo sat with the knee injury that knocked him out of the Week 12 win early. Sendejo's not worth waiting on in your IDP league, but Joseph will carry big upside against the Seahawks if he plays. OLB Anthony Barr (groin) and S Harrison Smith (knee) put in limited practices Wednesday. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Smith sounded optimistic about his chances of returning Sunday. Barr was listed with a new groin injury and the hand issue that has been around for weeks. We'll see about his status, but the fact that he practiced Wednesday points to him likely playing against Seattle.
Vikings starting S Andrew Sendejo left Sunday's win over the Falcons in the 1st quarter with a knee injury and did not return. Robert Blanton finished the game for him -- alongside Antone Exum Jr., who started in place of Harrison Smith (knee). Blanton would continue to fill in for Sendejo and likely offer similar production if Sendejo misses further time.
The Vikings expect S Harrison Smith to play Sunday against the Eagles but won't start him, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Smith has been out with turf toe since Oct. 14 and can;t officially come off IR until Friday. He and his coaches admit that returning against the fast-paced Eagles offense will pose a challenge. HC Leslie Frazier is also waiting to see how Smith's injury responds to practice this week. Andrew Sendejo and Jamarca Sanford will continue to start, but Smith's return adds risk to both as IDP options in your fantasy football league.
