According to team beat writer Ben Volin, Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill suffered a bruised quad and hyper-extended knee in Sunday’s win over the Jets. It’s a minor pair of injuries. Tanny said after the game that he could have returned in an emergency situation. He simply wasn’t needed with Miami on cruise control all game long. Expect Tannehill to return for a Week 9 matchup with Indianapolis. If not, QB Matt Moore would start again. He was solid against the Jets today, going 11 of 19 for 131 yards with 1 TD and 0 INTs.
Dolphins QB Matt Moore was injured in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game against the Eagles on a big hit from a blitzing LB. He headed back to the locker room with trainers, leaving J.P. Losman as Miami's starting QB.
Update: Moore suffered a head injury -- likely a concussion.
Dolphins QB Matt Moore (ribs) put in a full week of practice and will start against the Giants on Sunday. The injury doesn't seem like an issue, but Moore remains just a desperation option in 2-QB leagues.
Dolphins QB Chad Henne says he'll be able to play through his left (non-throwing) shoulder injury when the team comes off its Week 5 bye. "I can rip this arm off, and as long as I can post the ball up I think I can play," Henne said. "I've had shoulder injuries in college and high school and I played through it, so I expect to play through it again." QB Matt Moore didn't do enough in place of Henne on Sunday to take over as the starter. Still, Henne is quickly plummeting back towards fantasy irrelevance. Since an impressive Week 1 performance against the Patriots, he's completed just 54% of his passes with 2 TDs and 3 INTs the past 3 games.
According to the Gaston Gazette, it would take an injury or a “mental meltdown of Jake Delhomme proportions” for Panthers QB Matt Moore to not be the team’s starting QB in the season opener. While there is no competition for the starting job, the Panthers have prized rookie Jimmy Clausen eager and waiting as an understudy. We don’t think they’d be shy about throwing Clausen out there mid-season if things start to go south for Moore.
