Bears FS Major Wright left Sunday's game after suffering a "head injury" on a scary play. Wright ducked his head while going low on a 2nd-half tackle and lay motionless for a minute or 2 on the field after taking a blow to the head. He was able to walk off but didn't returned. This 1 sure has the signs of being a concussion, but the team has released no official word. Combined with SS Chris Harris' injury deactivation, this left the Bears with Craig Steltz and Brandon Meriweather at safety. Harris says he expects to return for the Week 3 meeting with the Packers. If Wright is out, Meriweather could slide to the FS spot in his place. He has the ability to play either spot, and the Bears made him the highest paid S on the roster after the Patriots released him. Should Meriweather perform well, we could see him and Harris man the position going forward. We'll keep an eye on the situation this week and beyond.
Buccaneers S Major Wright will miss today's trip to Tampa Bay because of an abdominal injury. That shouldn't affect your IDP plans as far as Wright's concerned, but his absence should help leave more snaps available for other Bucs safeties in an upside fantasy matchup. Bradley McDougald is our top target here, with Chris Conte an option in deeper leagues.
The Bucs will play S Major Wright in the role vacated by S Mark Barron's trade to the Rams this week. It's a big change for a guy Tampa Bay cut at the end of the preseason. Wright had worthwhile fantasy moments as a starter with the Bears but was never a consistent IDP factor. He'll need to prove his worth before we get interested in using him this time around. Barron was solid but no stud in IDP leagues before his trade.
Bears S Major Wright is inactive for today's visit to Minnesota. He suffered a hamstring injury in Friday's practice and joined the injury report as "questionable." Vikings QB Christian Ponder and his WRs aren't good enough to become fantasy sleepers, but Wright's absence might help TE John Carlson a bit.
Bears S Major Wright is questionable for Sunday's clash with the Vikings after pulling a hamstring in practice Friday. We haven't seen specifics on how significant the injury is, but it delivers a big blow to Wright's IDP outlook. Even if he's ready to start the game, hamstring guys carry plenty of risk for re-injury. Wright's fantasy production has lagged anyway after a strong start to the season. Check our DB rankings to see who makes for a better option.
S Major Wright is running with the starters and looks like the favorite to stay there at SS. DC Rod Marinelli said that players tend to make big steps in their 2nd years in his scheme. He also called Wright an "excellent tackler" who is also good on the ball in coverage. Wright missed the 1st half of last season with a hamstring injury but was a key reason the Bears didn't try to re-sign Danieal Manning. He should be in for more than the 72 total tackles that Manning collected last year.
